Two new variant lineages have been unlocked! Here are snippets from the Sea Elf and Drow lore:
Elf Lineage Variant: Sea Elf
Sea elves are an ancient bloodline that appeared at the same time land-bound elves first walked the world.
Sea elf civilization began before recorded elven history, well before the great schism that split land elves into disparate factions. This has given rise to the theory that the first elves were not one group, but two groups that came forth from the immortal realms simultaneously. One inherited the undersea realms, and the other inherited the lands above the waves.
Drow are descendants of elves who magically altered themselves to settle in the sunless world underground.
One of more curious results of the drow's gradual transformation is a innate affinity with insects as well as beetles, centipedes, scorpions, and—most importantly of all—spiders. Even drow raised among other lineages feel a supernatural kinship with arachnids, and this fascination leads most to view the number eight as lucky or sacred.
This week on the Kobold Press blog, art director and vanguard class designer Marc Radle shared the behind-the-scenes origin story of how Bannon Blackrose, the vanguard iconic, started as the unexpected Man of War.
