Free League Announces Dragonbane: Trudvang

I loved the minimalist setting of the Misty Vale. Lots of room to make the campaign mine. I also get that some gamers want more for their world building like Truvang - plus the art is amazing.

I do hope that this version of Trudvang leans away from the older aesthetic of pages and pages and pages of long form prose to describe the setting. I don't want to have to read (and remember) a novel in order to start GMing a setting.

I just found and dusted off my Trudvang for 5e books to jog my memory and...yeah...old school walls of text. :-/

Am I reading correctly that this will not be its own, completely standalone game? Like you'll need Dragonbane, and Book of Heroes will simply guide you on creating a Trudvang setting-specific character?

It's a really nice system, and plays very differently from D&D and D&D-like games.

I've only played a little bit of Dragonbane, but trying to round up some players for a campaign.

CMON also produced a pnp RPG of Trudvang, I still have the physical book for that.

The illustrations are absolutely awesome, the primary reason I'm attracted to the RPG. I'm also curios about Dragonbane (have the official PDFs, am just missing time), and having Trudvang run by FL and it running on Dragonbane, with the excellent support FL has for Foundry VTT. I suspect I'll be curious down the line as well. Won't be backing the crowdfunding campaign, I'll wait for the finished product...

That RPG was actually acquired from Riotminds, a swedish publisher, and started of as a setting for a previous incarnation Drakar och Demoner (Dragonbane in english). So this means the setting is back where it started.

Edit: Alos, Riotminds released the RPG Ruin Masters that uses a lot of the art that ended up in Free League's Dragonbane.
