What are you watching in (late 2025 and) 2026?

This one was good on Prime and I do not really remember the first season. This is more a prequel but I do not think they are too related.

This one was ok on Prime. He plays a former Marine intelligence that was kicked out and now lives at the hotel helping the owner deal with things. There is a lot of subtitles since it takes place in Italy, but most is in English.

I have two weeks off from the college and it is too wintery to play golf, so we'll see what else is on.

I'll probably be watching Stranger Things later tonight, though I doubt I'll binge it all, and then I have to watch the finale of Heated Rivalry.

December:
The Beast in Me
Plur1bus
Stranger Things
Red One
Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man
K-Pop Demon Hunters
Down Cemetery Road.

Cable TV Christmas Marathons: Mission Impossible, Jason Bourne, Avengers, Star Wars, as background noise as we do other things like hobbies, play with the dog or cleaning the house. We stop to watch to best scenes.

Yesterday, we watched a Zatoichi movie the family got for Christmas (we're trying to patch up some holes in our collection): Zatoichi and the Fugitives.

Tonight we watched the Minecraft movie, a gift my nephew got for Christmas. Man, that was stupid, but he enjoyed it.

Tomorrow, we're on for Zatoichi at Large. That's more like it!

In case you're wondering about some older shows

I was bored and watched the Salems Lot that was released a few years ago at 4AM Monday. I was pleasantly surprised, it was good. I don't recall the original other than the window tapping, and the Steak over rare" finale. I was 4 or 5 when I first saw that movie and don't recall seeing them since, but did the new one change a few things?

Still slowly working through the back half of Letterkenny with my brother. Remains a lot of fun, though I don't want to binge it. 1-3 episodes at a time is a great chill entertainment while we shoot the breeze during Hulu commercials and sip a couple of beers.

In the middle of the first season of House of Guinness with my mother and brother. Good somewhat soapy fun. Good actors and visuals, decent writing.

I'm also in the middle of re-trying HBO's Watchmen, which I watched the first three episodes of while dog sitting for a friend almost exactly five years ago (right before the pandemic hit), but somehow never got back to. The first two episodes start a LITTLE slow building the world, but holy crap is this good. The writing so far is on a level I rarely see. Excellent cast. Great visuals. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross score. And it's so damn faithful to the original graphic novel while building on it beautifully to tread new ground. The ways they reference back to the original keep hitting just right.

Train Dreams recently and its a must see. Full of ambiance and reflection a movie that will make you feel which is oh so very rare these days. Its a crime that Edgerton didn't even get nominated for an Oscar.
