D&D 5E Adding multiclass feats to prevent cheesy level dips and help true dual class level splits.

This would likely do the opposite of what you want. This provides even more benefit for 1 level dips, by making the dips stronger with a feat. A level 10 character could be 8 of one class, get two feats which would let them get the abilities of two other classes, if they wanted.

D&D 5E Paladin of Conquest fear quotes

Some simple edgelord ones; Evil doers, I've been sent to end your lives. Cower before the light. Mercy has no place here. clang shield The funeral bells has tolled for you all. Ready yourselves for pain worse than death. Some video game/cartoon ones; Rip and tear. When a god speaks, heed...

D&D 5E Making Goliaths More Mechanically Appealing

A few monsters have an ability that compound on grappling. Since Goliaths are big, I think it'd be reasonable to have something like: Once per short rest, when a Goliath makes a successful attack, the target must make a strength saving throw or be knocked prone (or be grappled, maybe)

D&D 5E Those who come from earlier editions, why are you okay with 5E healing (or are you)?

Yeah, honestly, I see DnD as a heroic game. It's pulp fiction action books. The character can have their leg broken and a chapter later jump from one ship to another - a good player will wince in pain and keep going, but at the end of the day, you're heroes and this is a movie. I have seen long...

What do you want to do better as a GM?

This is a very good way to look at things. I often run first-time-games for friends and acquaintances but have limited games to 3-5 players, generally. I should branch out and try to get a bigger group of first-timers. You never know. I honestly should watch Critical Role at some point solely...

How have you grown and/or changed as a GM over the years?

I really stopped rolling so much. Most of my games have moved further from mechanics and more on RP/Improv. The best games to me are session where no one rolls.

D&D 5E Barbarian, Why Do You Rage?

I've boxed for the last few years (recently stopped due to a broken rib), and there's a sort of mind-space like this I've thrown myself into a few times. It's like a trance. For me, it's been in a controlled athletic scenario - I'm sorry to hear yours was without that structure, but know it's...

What do you want to do better as a GM?

The biggest game I've been in had 8 players. In DnD3.5, it was a nightmare. The biggest I've run has been maybe 5 players. I'd love to learn how to run a game with over 6 players in a fun way. In some systems, I think it might be impossible.

D&D 5E Bringing a Real World Character to a Fantasy World

I'm quite fond of the idea of a fish-out-of-water game. Then again, I like exposition, both as a player and GM. I think if everyone is on board, it could be a lot of fun. Look at FF Tactics Advance and Hello From the Magic Tavern for two totally different ways to see that type of parallel world...

D&D 5E Theorycrafting: changing racial stat boosts to racial stat maxima

Haven't tried in 5e, but this is how Shadowrun works. I think MAD characters might be injured here - capping out at +4 on at least one thing. Would you consider the other way? Cap all at 20 and push the limit to 22?

    D&D 5E Rank the Official 5e Adventures

Perhaps I can throw in my hat here. I've never been an adventure path guy. I've never been an official setting guy either. All my games as a player (save 2) have been in imagined worlds by the GM, and all the games I've run (save 1) have been in settings of my own design. Generally, the reason...

    D&D 5E Blue Dragon Alcoholic?

I think - if you're a drinker - that we've all met that type of drinker who just wants everyone around them to be plastered. Super friendly and social while drunk, and just whipping free drinks to everyone. But, a bit pushy with them, disregarding the Designated Driver with "Ah, just one won't...

D&D 5E Knocked unconscious in water

Right, this all came up just because I wanted an appropriately leveled elemental to twist around (dust mephit being the one) and it got me thinking about a potentially very memorable fight. Then, curiosity wasn't sated by the book. Cheers to the helpful suggestions so far - I think I've got...

D&D 5E Knocked unconscious in water

Aye. I'm overall very happy with 5e design, but this does feel like a pretty likely situation that wasn't addressed. Even a sentence chucked on to the holding breath rule would have been enough.
