Hold the Strike: Add duration to your smites and stunning attacks!

One round per rank of Concencentration seems a bit weird since few or maybe no other feats give bonuses equal to ranks in a skill. Maybe make it similar to some of the divine feats in potential duration, such as a number of rounds equal to your Cha mod, mininum 1 round (Cha 13+ prerequisite...

So the sun shrinks to half its size...

If they PC's are evil, maybe they don't have the sun god as a patron, but if they do, you could assign an increasing percent chance that any spell or turning they do fails. You could start at a 10% rate to begin with, and then increase that as the sun shrinks. This would let you add some...

How would you do children as characters?

Actually, I am more inclined toward the system you made, fba827, because the d20 Modern SRD is not universal -- a two-year old kid could have a str of 12, according to that thing! Same with teh Star Wars rules... they make every kid the same, from age 0 to 14 (or whatever the max age is before...

How would you do children as characters?

So I'm beginning my new campaign with one adult and three children (the characters, not the players... the players and I are all 30+ year old children). So I am wondering how to do stats for kids. The PHB has age 15 as the beginning age for human adulthood, for example, but doesn't tell you...

Am I the only one who is depressed by other campaign websites?

Though I'd love to post a lot more on my site, I make it a personal rule to do only what will be used in the campaign. If the party encounters a significant NPC or travels to a new area, I spend just as much time typing it up on a web editor as I do penciling it down on paper -- so I only do...

    Oriental Adventures Source Material

I'll third the "excellent" rating of Jade Dreagons and Hungry Ghosts. Of all the monster books I have (MM, Monsters of Faerun, Creature Collection I and Creature Collection II), the creatures in this are hands-down the most interesting. The downside is that not all of the monsters are created...

Armor Penalty to Spot or Listen?

Sorry, I thought I was posting on House Rules. [/sarcasm] I was looking for suggestions, and as I pointed out, doing what I suggested would give persons/creatures with low armor penalties an advantage. Thus, it's unbalancing. Thus, I'm looking for suggestions. In other words, if...

Armor Penalty to Spot or Listen?

I've seen several homebrew sets of rules for diffrent types of helmets. While I'm not too keen on having a seperate AC for the head, I have been thinking of imposing the armor penalty on Listen and Spot. I know, all the rogues and rangers in the crowd are saying, "Do it! Do it!" And it would...

    Wanted: Humanoid Kaiju (Gargantuan)

Thanks for the attempt. Maybe we'll have to resort to the GFK. The PCs aren't supposed to fight it (and win), just run.

    D&D 3E/3.5 3E converted adventures

Agreed -- converted modules do seem to be over the top with regards to the character level they're supposed to cater to. To teach ourselves 3e, we ran Return to Keep on the Borderlands, which was for levels 1-3. It was indeed tough, and by the end, if some slick, rotten, good-for-nothing DM ;)...

    Any OA campaigns out there?

Here's a link to a journal of the campaign I DM: http://www.geocities.com/winspir/wei/dragon2.htm It's based on the traditional Japanese setting, but with enough twists to make people know its' definitely fantasy they're in. As for Rune's campaign, that thing would be interesting even if it...

    Wanted: Humanoid Kaiju (Gargantuan)

Hi, I intended to post this on these boards a few days ago, but they took the long dirt nap. So, I posted on Wizards.COM, but perhaps not unexpectedly, there have yet to be any replies. (These boards seem a lot 'friendlier' -- ya'll are like kin, ya are... aw shucks... I'm fittin' to...
