Are there warm places in space?

I've read that the temperature of space is very cold, somewhere around -456 degrees Fahrenheit. Yet is stands to reason that the closer you get to the sun the hotter things get. Is there somewhere out in space, say between the Earth and the Sun, that the temperature is a comfortable 70...

    Spaghetti Sauce

To be honest, his speech went a little over my head. I'm really not seeing the link between sauces and D&D. Well, I guess I never got past the hair :)

    Debut: Ardent

For me, the name Ardent will take some getting used to. I wonder, if an Ardent happens to be a pirate, do we call him Arrrrdent?:p

A special thanks to the ENWorld community

Thanks Mark, I know you were one of the people who replied to my old thread. In the thread you mentioned your mother, and I wish now that I had offered you such words back then like you did for me. I was lost and self-absorbed. The best I can do now is to echo those same words back to you...

A special thanks to the ENWorld community

Thanks again for the kind replies. And thanks to all those who PM'ed and Weem I'm just fine with the old link being posted. I had not even considered that my original thread might still exist, so I didn't search. Upon reading it again, I felt the same sense of gratitude that I felt back then...

A special thanks to the ENWorld community

Since this is not related directly to gaming, I'll try to keep it short. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Back in 2004, I was very active on ENWorld. On my birthday that year, my father died. I was in a really dark place and was looking for someone--anyone to reach out to for...

    Why did you subscribe?

I voted Community Support. I simply wanted to give something back. I happen to be unemployed and living from paycheck to paycheck right now via my VA Disability. Still, for $3.00 per month, I can afford to throw in my 3 coppers, and it just makes me feel better by doing so. D&D is indeed a...

D&D 4E How to Build 4E Solo Adventures?

It appears that we will get to see how WotC handles the solo adventure. There is an upcoming solo adventure in Dungeon 173! It is called Dark Awakenings, written by Chris Sims. The blurp states it will work as a solo adventure, or as an adventure for DM and one players. This should be...

    4e Solo Adventures

I think this would be one good way to introduce some new people to D&D. There may be folks out there interested in D&D, but held back by the idea of jumping into a group of experienced friends or strangers playing a complicated looking game. It is probably not uncommon for people to turn down a...

    Ebook RPG Books

Yeah, this is what I'm holding out for. Provided it does not cost a fortune, I'll probably buy one. Which makes me wonder...will WotC continue to hold off on digital versions of their books? Reading D&D material and novels would be the main reason I'd want one of these.

Real Life Stuff That Seems Like RPG Stuff...

I can imagine them being quite dangerous with weapons affixed. If you add the large heavy scythe blades that were used on Roman Chariots, you have something like War-Segways. They could mow people down just below the knees. Yikes!

Real Life Stuff That Seems Like RPG Stuff...

Yep, no matter how hard you try, it is hard to look cool riding a Segway :)

    4e Solo Adventures

It appears we have a 4e Solo Adventure coming in Dungeon 173! It is called Dark Awakenings, written by Chris Sims. I'm very excited about this because there are times that I can't hook up with my players, but I want to play some D&D. Is there anyone else out there who likes the concept of...

    I Want More Adventure Tools!

I want a game table, even if it is 2D with tokens. Nearly all my players have moved far enough away that a game table would be extremely helpful. When D&D finally embraces technology and the internet, I see no reason why playing with others in another state or country could not only be viable...

4E - 18 Months Later: Love it or hate it?

I had to vote: I like it. For me, 4e is like a smile with a missing tooth. Once the DDI game table is a reality, then I'll love it.

What adventure module defines D&D to you?

While I like all the classics, two modules stand out to me: Dark Tower (Judges Guild) Treasure Hunt (a FR module) In G-123 (Against the Giants) there is a B&W illustration of a giant about to smack an orc with a frying pan. That image alone defines D&D to me.

Suggestion for compromise on Wizard's PDFs

Whatever happened to the idea that if you buy the hard copy, there is a code that grants you access to the pdf? I don't recall where, but I'm sure I read somewhere that WotC was going to do just that.

[Forked from 4e Class Survivor] Why no Leader love?

Leaders? LEADERS?? We don't need no stinking Leaders! :p Nah, I actually like all the roles. Each is important to a well rounded party.

    Bring Back Modrons

I second that! I'd also love to see something creative done with Primus (The One and the Prime). Perhaps a return?

Movies that make you want to game...

I fondly recall the Sinbad movies. Someone already mentioned Flash Gordon. That movie still strikes a cord with me. The music, by Queen, really does the movie proud.
