    Module for evil party?

The 2e Planescape campaign setting actually had a few modules that could be used for evil parties, fitting given its morally gray and convoluted nature. In the Abyss involved a plot to retrieve a lost Doomguard planar warship for the characters' own purposes (or those of their factions). The...

I'm looking for books that "Level" magic items as you level.

I'm doing this in a pathfinder game I'm currently running. One of the players IMC has a half-orc barbarian who is somewhat superstitious towards magic. Her axe is imbued with a friendly, guardian ancestor spirit that grows in power as she gains levels (ie, gets further enchantments). I'm not...

    D&D 3E/3.5 How to run spells in 3.5 OGL/Pathfinder

If you have access to a laptop or the like, I'd recommend using resources with search capabilities. Besides the ones mentioned so far, there's also a few online versions of the paizo srd: Pathfinder_OGC Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Reference Document Paizo's also got many versions of its books...

Dwarven brick Lvl 14 stat request

You may find this link to be of some use: Rogue Eidolon's Guide to Fighters - Pathfinder_OGC Check out the "Defender of the weak" section. Generally, for a sword and board fighter I think you're best best is going to be two weapon fighting, improved shield bash, and power attack. It's not...

    Help! I can't find it!

Could you be speaking of foo dogs/foo lions? They travel the planes and protect people. There's a writeup of them in the 2e Planescape Monstrous Compendium I, a foo creature template in the 3e third party Tome of Horrors, among other places. Edit: They're also CG and can travel astrally or...

Pathfinder 1E Expedition to Castle Ravenloft in Pathfinder

The changes to undead can be summed up thusly: -d8 racial HD but Cha mod to hp (zombies and skeletons have 10 cha now instead of 1) and no change to any class level HD -cha mod to fort -Medium BAB progression for Undead racial Hit Dice -No longer immune to sneak attack (aside from incorporeal...

    Creature Collections

I thought they said they were going to do two different books (one version for Pathfinder and one for Swords and Wizardry) Did they change their mind and decide to go for a dual-stat version?

    Simulated-combat spells

You might take a look at the various shadow evocation/conjuration/etc sort of spells for some ideas on emulating actual spells. The Merciful weapon quality and the Merciful metamagic feat (the latter from the Advanced Player's Guide) may be useful here as well with nonlethal takedown tactics.

    New Character: Nelzelzebub

Sounds like an interesting and fun (if challenging) character to play. The idea of a "self-enlightened" sociopath makes for a great concept, one that I could actually imagine working in a party of PCs (something a bit rare given the CE alignment). On another note, there are a few spells that...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] A Blind Character? Help

Hmmm, from the Monster Manual, there's grimlocks, if you don't mind Level Adjustments. And if Pathfinder sources are available, there is the Oracle with the Blindness curse from the new Advanced Player's Guide. Another option, if you wanted to go with primarily a noncombat/social character is...

Any worlds with monsters as monsters

The closest thing i can think of is Ravenloft, seems like with all the old (2e) Van Richten's Guides released you could really make any general type of beast (vampire, lich, golem, werewolves, and especially fiends). Choosing unique combos of "Salient powers" to fit the monster's nature and...

    Swashbuckling in Freeport! (Adventure Help)

I'm not at all familiar with the setup and it's been a long time since I've looked at Freeport but a few vague ideas: 1) Some Fransisco descendants might decide to make a come back after all these years and get revenge. This could be a cause for a revolution. 2) Another idea i had for using...

Forget the Music. Sound Effects for RPGs?

This link has a D&D Monster Man soundboard! with an actor's impressions of what several D&D monsters might sound like. Taken from a con video somewhere on the internet. It's surprisingly good, especially the goblin, banshee, sylph, and shrieker.

Looking for an adventure involving the Resurection of a God

Not really an adventure, but you could look up Egyptian mythology to get a few ideas. Isis brought Osiris back to life by finding all of the pieces of his torn up body and bringing him back as the Lord of the Dead. Edit: In planescape, there is the bit about the Signers wanting to "imagine"...

    Gaming Terms and Memes

One interesting, D&D specific meme that I stumbled upon long after it had apparently passed was the idea that Pelor is really evil. Interesting and funny stuff, might have made for an interesting campaign. Edit: Also, Meepo! he was barely described in the Sunless Citadel but became an endeared...

    Mike Mearls ruined my composure

I think I might have related these stories related before, but then again, bad NPC names and "worse" player reactions are nothing new. Back in the Sunless Citadel there was the bugbear gardener (!) named Balsag. It evoked the response you would respect, and in fact they kept snickering about...

Roleplaying - Is there a right or a wrong way as far as you are concerned?

I think the main thing about roleplaying is that it's fundamentally a social activity packed with the same issues and dynamics as any social relationship. Treating each other with respect and reciprocity as you have fun, and "ur doin' it right" in my book. ;)

    [M+M] Amalgam Campaign Ideas-need help!

I see is that you've got something of an imbalance between your Flash and Green Lantern enemies there. So I'd try to put in some amalgam Flash enemies there too. Now, I'm neither a Flash or a Green Lantern expert, but http://www.comicvine.com/ has character listings complete with enemies and...

    D&D is just a game...right?

This can be one of the most telling of how well a game is going is during these "moments of crises", when it really does hit the fan. The players, for their part, despite obviously taking being hard hit by it, seemed to have taken it in stride, with a minimum of ill feelings or hostility...
