    D&D 3E/3.5 Darkness Spell in 3.5

Its certainly a different spell with different uses. One thing's for sure, drow will never be the same.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Vampiric Regen in 3e / 3.5

To convert such a thing to Third Edition I'd use the following guidelines. Use activated Vampiric Touch Spell on the melee weapon. Spell level (3) X 2000gp X Caster Level (5th) = Cost (30,000gp) I'd only permit the extra damage dice (2d6 at 5th level) to be vampiric and not all weapon damage...

    Wood Elf

Per the DMG pg 173 all stats are equal except strength equals two intellectual stats (Int, Wis, Chr) instead of the usual one. Its understandable if people disagree with that however.

    Wood Elf

Yeah, the wood elf -2chr got dropped in 3.5.

    Kobolds with NPC class levels

Close, if a 1st level NPC class kobold is 1/4 and a 1st level NPC class goblin (-2 CR) is 1/3 I'd say it goes like this for the kobold. 1st level NPC class Kobold = 1/4 2nd level NPC class Kobold = 1/3 3rd level NPC class Kobold = 1/2 4th level NPC class Kobold = 1 Now NPC classes are...

    planar spells on the planes

I don't believe it explicitly states which of the non-material planes have ethereal and/or shadow planes. In my mind it would be more the exception than the rule. Even if the other planes have ethereal & shadow planes they don't necessarily need to be connected to the conventional planes...

Quicken Spell and Spell-like now swift action!?

Maybe its just a way of saying its a free action that can only be done once per round as opposed to an unlimited number of times.

    Avoral - Tongues?

Yeah, I noticed it described, but not under the Guardinal traits or otherwise in their individual entries. It must have been an oversight when they split up all the good outsiders into separate categories. The question is whether or not they are intended to have this ability. In 3.0 all the...

    Avoral - Tongues?

I assume its as the tongues spell so I would say with anything that has a spoken language. The spell says it doesn't allow a person to speak to somebody that doesn't/can't speak so it it wouldn't work with a creature that only communicates by gestures or pure thought or otherwise simply doesn't...

Ray of Enfeeblement versus Undead !?

Undead are immune to death effects (not all necromantic), ability damage to strength, dexterity, and constitution, and anything requiring a fortitude that doesn't affect objects or is harmless. Ray of enfeeblement is none of these as its a no-save strength penalty (not damage) in 3.5. 3.0...

    Paralysis and Hold

Paralysis & Hold They were listed as separate conditions in the 3.0 DMG. So for 3.0 they were not considered the same thing. The hold spells used paralysis for flavor text making it confusing. The 3.5 DMG no longer has the held condition indicating they are the same in 3.5. However, I preferred...

    Forcecage & magic immunity

Also make sure the creature is small enough to fit in it. Even though it occupies 20'x20' or less space the creature might be taller than the 20' cube.

    Sunder an intelligent weapon

Just hope the sundering is successful. Attempting to sunder it makes the item rather angry. I ran a high level game back in 2E and the wizard kept blasting an orb out of an enemies hands. When he finally got his hands on it, it said "I don't appreciate being shot". The player's jaw hit the floor...

    Sweeping Attacks

Maybe the feat Area Attack from Savage Species would work. It requires a large weapon, but I think it would be fair to let a natural weapon apply if it has reach.

    Wizard with a theme

Shadow adept may be good for any non-blasting type of caster (wizard or sorcerer). Although not a specialist shadow weave grants bonuses to enchantment, illusion, and necromancy while it has weaknesses in evocation and transmutation. The requirements aren't horribly steep for a sorcerer like...

    Scry - Teleport - Initiative - Surprise?

Do keep in mind the players can use the same tactic. I've had problems with players scrying the enemy (3.0E) until they go to sleep for the night. Teleport in and coup de grace them. If this tactic is permitted it makes a mess. Its more difficult to do in 3.5 since the scrying target now gets a...

    Help designing a lethal healer

For feats I'd recommend divine might and possibly extra smiting. If you're stuck with core deities I believe you could follow St Cuthbert as a paladin to get smiting. With divine might, smiting, and the strength domain you can pack quite a punch before you get the good cleric spells.

    ECL Rules?

There are some various ECL determining formulas out on the web, but as far as WOTC products go Savage Species has some basic ECL tools. An elf with wings would be ECL +1 as stated. The kobold may be an example for bumping down the ECL. It has a +1 natural armor bonus (+1ECL), but it has light...

What would be a good permanent magical effect to put on a moat full of crocs?

Like some other said either make it look jump able or have a dispelling screen, but put it in the middle of the moat so they fall in in the middle of it instead of the edge. (Is dispelling screen a visible effect? If so have a dispel magic instead.) The crocs will have the most advantage if in...

    Mob of rock throwers?

For a simple mechanic I'd consider it like a hail storm. Now hail in the DMG (pg94) is hardly lethal, but many people in ancient cultures were killed by stoning. The ice storm spell deals 3d6 in bludgeoning damage per round. Considering theres about a 100 stones being thrown a round it would be...
