D&D 5E Should martial characters be mundane or supernatural?

Agreed a moderately high level fighter is functionally as strong as Rhino or eventually matching great Dragons... not Olympic level at all.

D&D 5E Should martial characters be mundane or supernatural?

Its easy to interpret some of the extreme maneuvers as involving chi ie focusing of the life force, any ability involving spending a healing surge can be seen that way at some level. Martial Artists approach their craft as an explicit power source which digs deep to go beyond the norm. In 5e...

D&D General Why the resistance to D&D being a game?

its usually landing on relatively soft ground and with modern healing available. The most realistic mechanic for wounds is a fairly elaborate saving throw system.... though with the numbers tweaked I think Mutants and Masterminds could be a basis

D&D General Lethality, AD&D, and 5e: Looking Back at the Deadliest Edition

Saw more climactic deaths in 4e than any previous edition ... and fewer anti-climactic oops...you just died to a "minor encounter" or a random save or die... AD&D was constant deaths.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

I have had instances of absolutely zero pain to the degree I would have accepted an assertion that I didnt actually get a shot. I had something tenacious and very energy sapping and cold symptom like in that time period too ( I am rarely sick for any time at all this lasted and lasted and lasted).

    D&D and the rising pandemic

My experience is whom your nurse is and a little luck makes huge difference in shot pain in general.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

i think I and my wife count for this... also the symptoms were extremely minor and gone very fast but we know we were exposed.

D&D (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

Sorry they didnt say it you are right .... but the 4E at-will powers were gained at level 1.

D&D (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

In 1e the fireball was defined in a way that one might be able to interrupt its path and induce it to explode in the face of the caster. Hold your action and throw a shield perhaps (or get an ability to do it as a reaction) . The idea of spells designed to be physically interacted with was kind...

D&D (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

They said at level 1.... you are talking minimum level 5 in 5e for the extra attack. And another difference the 4e fighter likely has a 65 percent chance maybe higher with no saving throws involved. The 4e fighter could also make an indefinite number of attacks at enemies trying to run past him...

    D&D 5E Scientist background

Math is in a sense a primary language of other sciences... its the foundation of statistics used in every branch of science. Math in and of itself does very little until brought into a particular context. (but it was developed because of the context too as a description of something in the...

D&D (2024) How should the Warlord be implemented in 1DnD?

yup you so cannot use the battlemaster maneuvers in any other class and we absolutely cannot use the paladin spells you are ignoring reality... and suddenly we could not have a mastermind rogue. If someone else had an ability which buffs the help action you could not ever multi-class to combine...

D&D (2024) How should the Warlord be implemented in 1DnD?

Ironically Clerics were better at temp hit points too.

D&D (2024) How should the Warlord be implemented in 1DnD?

WOTC did not plan for the Prince(ss) / Lazylord build warlord to happen fans applied imagination to a diverse set of tools the specialist had and found something fresh and unusual.

D&D (2024) How should the Warlord be implemented in 1DnD?

Look at 5e multiclassing LOL they are incredibly close to that niche protection being a thing of the past. Wait ->Are you the one basically asserting that Warlords cannot have a niche because everyone should have all of their stuff and then you say this? Or am I mixing you with someone else?

D&D (2024) How should the Warlord be implemented in 1DnD?

Wizards only access to their high level spells is sort of mild niche protection at least eventually. I considered maybe the only reason battlemaster maneuvers are allowed easy access to anyone is because they remain super low level however the obvious martial feats were also made available to...

D&D (2024) How should the Warlord be implemented in 1DnD?

this... if one wants magical warlord a couple cleric archetypes are not far off. Yup it's agenda driven.
