how would a helm of prot. vs. evil be priced in the new rules. in the old rules we came up with 8k to 10.5k depending on how it was priced. granted prot. vs. evil is a great spell and for what it does should probably be of higher level, but most of the time its gonna just be a +2 helm.

you must have a definate BBEG that the PC hero's can defeat to save the day and live happily ever after . . . er that is until you have the next BBEG raise his ugly head. make it mostly balck and white with not a lot of shades of grey.

did he wheel the cleric and blackguard? if so its a moot point as long as the paladin can be brought back.

I should add that the rogue discovered the existance of Drendari but his character isnt from here he is from the forgotten realms which he refers to the "far east". his mentor is a follower of Drendari and he will likly convert when he levels up.

My game is also set in the Scarred Lands. all of the characters are devoted to a deity except the fighter (my wife - who is unfamiliar with the SL dietys) and the rogue - who just discovered Drendari so that may change when the party gets back to Llangwyr.

remeber that in midevil times most people couldnt read or write thus the oral tredition of bards. so I am surprised that they "don't fit", even if they are not a PC class they add a lot of flavor to the game. If you dont like the special abilities then change bards to minstrels or circus...

I have and I do. as a DM you should use all available resources. and whats better then tapping the source.
