IRON DM- Please Provide your feedback and comments

I believe that it is good that new and unfamiliar ingredients are given. I had no clue what an Oni was either and did a google search- the results themselves sparked some cool ideas (half demon warrior).

    Dungeon #117 has arrived

The content, especially in the current issue, has vastly improved. I have almost every one of the Dungeon magazines, and i look through them frequently for ideas and the old days were not necessarily the glory days. There are many adventures that were cartoony, lots of content that were not even...

    Dungeon #117 has arrived

Just got #117 and it is one of the best Dugeon mags. i have had, i love the city backdrop and all the other useful articles! Great job - i alos like the fact that Eric is taking it in a new direction- I.E centered around campaign building.

What's the biggest challenge / frustration in your game?

Overall, the new edition is wonderful. The issues i have had are the following (other than moving away from my group): 1. High level NPCs become very complicated to run/create - if one were to stat out an NPC from the ground up, using no tools (heroforge is what i use and is awesome) it would...

Moving to NYC in a coupla weeks...

Yeah, Neutral Ground is sort of like a war zone where you stand across from one another and beat each other up with foam swords... ;) wait, thats not quite accurate. My current group plays in Queens - unfortunately (or fortunately) i got married, moved etc. If you would like, i can put you in...

Moving to NYC in a coupla weeks...

The strategist is the only gaming store in NYC. It caters to gamers in general. There is also a DnD meet up in NYC- i have never been to it so i cannot vouch for it. Here is the link - DnD meetup in NYC There is also neutral ground which is located around 27th street and the strategist has a...

Moving to NYC in a coupla weeks...

I have read Seasong's Iron DM entries and he seems to be a very creative GM. Are you looking to play in a D&D campaign or something else? I know of a few groups in NYC and the surrounding areas that are very good and creative. All of them are story/ character driven but do have varying degrees...

Hey Everyone, Currently i am aiming for Nov 7th start date. I would like to meet everyone to make sure that we can get along. I might have people from my old group joining as well. The Dungeon Githyaki/Githzerai Obsession

dugeon is one of the best buys for the money, but there has been a recent trend of having the Githyaki/Githzerai in almost every issue of every magazine. Is one of the editors a Githyaki fan? and how about some high level non- planar adventures? This renders these adventures unusable for a lot...

[Dungeon] Top 30 Greatest Adventures Discussion (Spoilers)

The module i remember most was Castle Amber - the module had everything from a castle crawl to ending up in a whole new campaign setting (still remember the dwarven fighter saying "its only chickens" and getting turned into stone by the "chickens" or the boxing match with the homoculus)

What's a good D&D campaign setting for a beginning DM?

Forget all these settings and start with a small village or town and slowly you can build up from there as based on player actions. KISS is invaluable for being a good GM.

    Doing away with the battlemat

Use tact-tiles - so much better than battle mats  Battle mats slow things down but has the advantage of eliminating ambiguous situations and measuring range etc. It just comes down to preference.

What are the "essential" tools for DMing?

Hmm...I think i might have misstated what i was intending. As always, imagination, dice etc. are the prime requisites of DMing. What i was wondering was what other tools people use. For Example, i checked out Heroforge after a post here by PirateCat about it; it is one of the best tools i have...

What are the "essential" tools for DMing?

For example, i currently use Jamis Buicks spreadsheet for mass NPCs. The Heroforge spreadsheet for NPCs with templates PRCs etc (this program is awesome). My laptop during the game which has music etc. which i modify for the gaming situation . I also use minis, counters from the counter...
