    Words are hard!

Well, how do you pronounce Garage? In english we have hard g's and soft g's - the latter providing the 'j' sound as in Garaje. :)

    Words are hard!

The word which gave me trouble for the longest time was Halcyon. It was one of those words that I just took a run at when I was 10 and then didn't ever actually read the letters again for about 30 years! I used to say Hal - e - con rather than Hal - sea - on Cheers

    Words are hard!

As I understand it, it is an example of pairs of words that come from different roots but are used for the same thing, in most cases one being a nordic/viking root and the other being a norman/french root. So one example is gaol/jail for a place of imprisonment. Another is garden/yard for a...

A Scheme by any other name

I dunno - he could be the prince and the pauper!

A Scheme by any other name

I can see good and bad in the idea of equivalent packages for other classes. Good: It can allow for various additional archetypes to be easily handled within a particular class Bad: If it excludes certain options by locking them into one scheme, I think that is a bad thing. So, looking at the...

Spells that should be rituals or cantrips.

I think knock as a ritual would be a bad thing, as it fits the 'wand of knock replaces a rogue' problem. If you can unlock any door with a bit of time and money, the rogue will feel wasted as a locksmith. If knock can only be done by taking up a valuable spell slot, then you don't have the...

    REAL Old Grognards: Need Help!

D&D was pretty much the first commercially available roleplaying product. There were some fantasy wargames which were played during that timescale, but they were few and far between and normally involved 'house rules' at the particular wargames club. I was involved in that scene when D&D first...

We Don't All Have Color Printers, Dangit

Normally it probably wouldn't have been a problem, but at times of new edition we have learned that people can be extra-sensitive, hence we're making requests to help prevent things flaring up. So I appreciate your helpfulness here. Cheers!

    Drunken Master... wizard!

I can imagine a drunken slayer would be quite good too - guaranteed damage if you miss :)

Has anyone played "The Shab-al-Hiri Roach" RPG?

I was reading this about a play of the game and was intrigued It is by Bully Pulpit Games The Shab-al-Hiri Roach Has anyone played this, and would like to share experiences? It sounds great for a convention one-shot. Cheers

We Don't All Have Color Printers, Dangit

I think you ought to make an edit to the original post to clarify that it was a joke, because it just looks rude and condescending at the moment. Thanks

    Saving throws improve?

We don't have any hints yet. Presumably there might be ability bumps in the growth of the character

    Rogues: Not Skill-y enough?

Although the implication of your proposal is that all rogues are thieves - what if you want an acrobatic, roguish character that doesn't steal or burgle? I think your idea would work better if the class was called thief than if it is called rogue. Cheers

    Playtest report - English edition

Quick moderatorial note - this recent couple of posts isn't a slight on 4e or it's players. I shouldn't need to say this, but I don't want to see anyone come and try to make an issue out of it. Thanks
