    Rapid Shot and haste

I'd say that the above line covers the -2 modifier for Rapid Shot. Same with TWF or FoB. It's a situational modifier, the situation being that the character is taking an extra attack using a feat or special ability.

    Rapid Shot and haste

IMO, I'd rule that the feat does not count as a "haste effect" when determining stacking, but is more like Flurry of Blows or the Two weapon Fighting feat, where the additional attack(s) come at a penalty. In all three cases, I'd rule that the extra attack from Haste must also suffer the same...

    Hydra question (2003 thread)

The thing is, I did use the strongest interpretation -- all 12 heads as a standard attack, and the creature can use all 12 heads on each of its two attacks of opportunity, and can do so while flat-footed. Granted, the party is tougher, and like I said, I took that into consideration when making...

    Hydra question (2003 thread)

Actually, I find the hydra rather disappointing, even if you use the strongest of interpretations. I ran a twelve-headed hydra against a 10th level party, and it barely lasted two rounds. Granted, the party is larger than average (six to eight players show at any session, with six showing for...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Rapier & Scimitar

I thought that was glaive-glaive-guisarme-glaive-voulge-spetum-billhook, aka the "Swiss Army Polearm"... :D

Missing an Arm, leg, or hand . . .

DMG 3.5 p27, "Variant: Damage to Specific Areas" gives effects if a specific limb is damaged but not destroyed. You can probably extrapolate from those rules if you need to.

    Powerful Races and Beginning XP

The FRCS alternate XP system is now the 3.5 default, so if you have players that fall behind in the XP game (due to absences, deaths, or level loss), they can eventually catch up to the rest of the party. I've been toying with the idea of having starting characters in a first-level game have...

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Threat ranges no longer stack!

One question: has everyone houseruled rapier, all of the sudden? I seem to remember that rapier was a Piercing weapon, and keen only works on Slashing weapons... Still, I've never really had a problem with high-threat weapons IMC. Most of the scimitars and falchions they've seen were in the...

    3lb Belt Pouch??

Re: Weights are off! Huh? Where's that come from? AFAIK, magic weapons weigh the same as a nonmagical masterwork weapon would, unless the GM decides that it's made of one of the lighter materials found on DMG 242. Even then, you wouldn't be able to tell the weight difference between magical...

Cryptosnark Games announces *The Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks*

I knew I should've invested in a shredder! Although I'm sure you have to fight off Jolly R. Blackburn and John Kovalic for my game notes... :) Although I suspect that Jolly has actually commandeered a mind-control satellite...that's why I've got the tinfoil beanie...to keep the MIND RAYS...

Cryptosnark Games announces *The Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks*

*crumpling paper, tossing in wastebin* Back to the drawing board for me. One of these days, I'll come up with a book idea that someone else doesn't beat me to first... Needless to say, I'll probably be one of the first to buy your product, just to see how it compares to the houserule flaws...

Yo! i got a question about incorpreal creatures.

Re: Re: Yo! i got a question about incorpreal creatures. While the conclusion is correct (incorporeal attacks ignore solid objects, but not creatures), incorporeality has nothing to do with planar status. Unless otherwise stated, such as with the manifestation of a ghost, an incorporeal...

    Main Page New Style?

If it helps, I found that you could still get the "New" listing by manually loading the PostNuke News module like so: http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/news/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=index So, it's still there, and still working, just not showing up as the default.

    Main Page New Style?

That's weird...I've tried two different browsers (IE 5.5 and Moz 1.2.1), and both the "New" and the "Old" formats point me to the summarized "Old" format, and not the one-post-per-update "New" format (the standard PostNuke news module). Just wondering... :)

Can you use a Partial Action to Ready for later in the round?

There's still a cost, in a way. Once you've declared the trigger for your readied response, you can't change your mind and do something else if that trigger is voided -- you've already used your standard action that round. For example, if the caster you were covering with an arrow, hoping to...

I was wondering...was the main page's "New" style removed?

    Suggest some improvements!

There's already alot of great features online, it'd be hard to improve on it... Perhaps a release schedule could be tied into a version of the PostCalendar block for the main page...

    Familiar HD

I think the only time that the familiar's effective HD comes into play is when determining the effects of spells upon it. It would be rather upsetting if your 14th level wizard walked through a Cloudkill spell with a little bit of acid burn, only to sense that his pet parrot has "ceased to be"...
