    Yuan-ti PCs, what ECL?

According to Dragon Magazine #293, it's +12 for a Pureblood, +14 for a Halfblood, and +16 for an Abomination. Soldarin is a little more lenient, putting them at +7, +9, and +14, respectively.

    Planar travel

Deities and Demigods also has information on the Greyhawk cosmology, but some of it is reprinted from the Manual of the Planes. It might be useful if you plan on letting your players interact with deities in their own planar realms, though.

    Planar travel

Uh, at the risk of sounding stupid... You do have Wizards of the Coast's Manual of the Planes, right? If so, you should have everything that you need for a planar campaign. If you're planning on visiting the Abyss or Baator, you might check out Green Ronin's Book of Fiends series. Volume...

    Monte Cook's BoEM2 Sorcerer Variant

Basically, it differs from the PHB Sorcerer as follows: d6 HD 4 skill points/level. Two extra Charisma-related class skills. (Diplomacy and Gather Information) No material components are needed, but they must pay 1/25 of the gp cost of material components in XP (with a minimum of 1 XP)...

I have TWO wishes. Help please!!

In this case, your DM is being an ass. Especially coming from a Ring of Wishes, the wish "I wish to be smarter" should have no negative results. It will simply raise your Inteligence by 1. You might want to talk to him about that.

Average AC for 10th lvl *RTTTOEE SPOILER AHEAD*

Re: Ok, here are 2 of my players Yes. That's the correct way of doing it. For example, to upgrade a +1 sword to a +3 sword, you pay the difference between a +1 enhancement and a +3 enhancement. In this case, it's 18,000 - 2000 = 16,000 gp.

    My DN Rant (cont'd)

This might be true, but none of the drow-specific equipment that has been updated to 3e, such as the Lesser and Greater Piwafwi or the Drow House Insignia, make any mention of the items crumbling to dust when exposed to sunlight. In Lords of Darkness, there is even a section detailing a Drow...

    My DN Rant (cont'd)

It's pretty simple, really. It's not where it *does* say it... it's where it *doesn't* say it. ;) None of the 3rd Edition books mentions Drow equipment crumbling to dust when exposed to sunlight. (Also, I think I remember one of the WotC guys specifically stating that Drow equipment no...

Are deaf creatures immune to sonic damage?

The description for the Screaming weapon enhancement, which is the sonic equivalent of Flaming or Frost, states: "Screaming weapons do inflict their bonus damage within a silence spell. Screaming weapons do not have any additional adverse affects upon creatures that use enhanced hearing..."...

That's exactly what I was thinking. :D Hopefully, WotC won't go this route...

    My DN Rant (cont'd)

Actually, they removed this in 3rd Edition. Drow equipment no longer crumbles to dust when exposed to sunlight. As it stands now, there is no mechanical difference between Drow equipment and any other race's equipment. A drow sword may look a little different, but it functions the same as any...

    Orcus question...

Orcus' Wand has always had the power of instant annihilation. Any living creature struck by it is instantly killed. No saving throw. Just *Poof*. According to the 1e Monster Manual, the only things that it can't affect are beings of like status.

    The Devil's in the Details

Based on what he has said, I'm pretty sure that they are just fighting a normal devil (most likely a Cornugan). His DM doesn't seem to have the best grasp of the treasure system, but I'm hoping that he's at least smart enough to not throw a group of 8th level characters up against a CR 37...

    Special Ops

IIRC, Penumbra is the campaign world that the Atlas Games adventures are set in, just like Greyhawk or the Forgotten Realms for WotC, and the Scarred Lands for Sword & Sorcery Studios.

    Monsters as PC's

Actually, it can be different. For example, a Hobgoblin is CR 1/2, and has 1 HD. However, it's ECL +1. Another example is the Nixie. They are CR 1 and have 1 HD, but are ECL +3. Challenge Rating and Hit Dice alone aren't always a good representation of overall power. There are many other...

    Monsters as PC's

Actually CR has nothing to do with it. What you're looking for is ECL (Effective Character Level). This is used to determine what equivalent level character the monster is. For example, an ECL +1 race with a single level of any class would be equivalent to a 2nd level character. For more...

    The Devil's in the Details

A Vorpal longsword is a bit too valuable for an 8th level character, considering that it costs at least 72,000 gp, and the average 8th level character should have around 27,000 gp in total treasure. That's 2.67 times the amount of treasure that he ought to have, and it's all in a single item...
