its actually very staccato sounding, the whole thing. The problem is that is very musical so most of the words are "sung" not really spoken. The 'a' has a...how do I say it...curve to it. I don't hear the N at spoken at all. Or the next H. It sounds a little bit like a "k" sound next...but...

hmmm...the interesting thing is that a French monk took the Vietnamese language which at that point had characters like the Chinese language - he made the written language it is today which is a marked difference from the usual Asian languages you see. I think its aaaaa....like cat.

That only works if *I* can pronounce it. I don't have an Vietnamese accent. Actually *cough* I have a bit of a southern belle thing going at times when I get excited. Now how funny is that - a little asian lady with a southern accent.

yep its Hanh - pronounced by my linguistically challenged friends as Han - as in Han Solo... I can't even phoentically represent it the correct way. It's Vietnamese.

lol yeah I learned that I was infact quite independent and yes I could do it. ;) Not quite the lesson my parents had intended for me to learn. They were expecting me to crawl back like a good girl and rejoin the hive.
