Cool; I have questions.
What points were the characters, how many?
What did you use for the final boss?
Any hiccups to warn me about?
There's a Naga in Monsters 2 which would work for me, as would a few critters in Gaming Ballistic's latest snake bestiary.
Has anyone played Silver Age Sentinels, or it's modern version, Absolute Power? When I soured on Champions, with 5e, I found SAS and liked it but before I ever played it, I discovered M&M and got into the playtest for 2e.
I still have both of these. I sometimes use the FF to intimidate my players who are old enough to remember the monstrosities that are in it - like the Nilbog.
I like these two systems quite a bit. The Gurps system is more complex but, imo, more robust but there are a few lighter versions to suit different genres - After the End (post-apocalypse), Monster Hunters and Action, Girl Genius all have variants.
Back in the '90s there was a GURPS Fantasy adventure that took place in a Wizard's Tower. Said wizard had just died and all the PCs were his entourage - Familiar, Elemental, Imp, animated skeleton, etc. - trying to figure out what to do next. It was designed to show off a recent book which had...
I was in a GURPS game years ago where we all played brothers/half brothers by 3 or more different mothers. It allowed for some less ... useful characters because we were all family. One was a deep roleplayer whose character was an cloistered alchemist with no combat skills whatsoever. Because we...
Friend of mine took a group from D&D Encounters and started a home brew of modified D&D where all the PCs are goblins from the same village with very simplified rules for magic. He has moved to China but they're working on a way to online the whole thing. It's mostly goofing off and stabbing...
That's actually my entire gaming life. I have physical copies/printouts for all the games I run, mostly Savage Worlds or GURPS, no devices at the table. Sorry you can't find your way to it.
Don't know yet as I haven't joined yet; just looking for ideas. I was thinking ranged as they are pretty melee heavy but there's a rogue feat that allows me to 'flank' as long as there's an ally adjacent, like in 5e. And even without feats, rogues can snipe okay from ambush. Yeah, if someone...
I am still kind of stupefied that GR didn't completely abandon the ogl for 3e. It was barely needed and a few more changes would have done it. As for brand recognition, it's a third ed. If you don't know about M&M by now, you don't care and OGL on the back cover isn't going to change your mind.
