    D&D 5E Attunement

It's been a perfectly fine rule and counters the collect and discard tendency in some games. But this is your game and you like more items. So. Drop the rule. But remember, one you open Pandora's box then you don't shut it again. So maybe just try reducing the incidence of items... But it is...

    D&D 5E Thinking about 5E releases...

I agree. Either make stuff up or take all the bits of an AP and strip away the metaplot, or play the AP. Or buy a non WOTC product. Or run a 2e or 3e adventure and convert on the fly. There are loads of options. However if you want extra rules and splatbooks, tough.

I am loving the model and the slow burn.

    D&D 5E Array v 4d6: Punishment? Or overlooked data

I love random and roleplaying with it. As a GM I am happy to allow arrays, point buy, whatever floats your boat. Ditto hit points, I roll the dice but don't mock those that do.

    Murder in Baldur's Gate (spoilers!)

Thanks for the chat. Ironically it has made me want to buy and run the scenario but with all your advice!

    D&D 5E Magic Item Costs in 5E

The problem is that D&D constructs a world which is essentially one of modern free market individuals with little moral compass who loot and rampage across a society less Wild West setting. It's Reaganomics and Thatcher with the liberal dream in a context free fantasy. It's D&D! It is it's own...

D&D 5E I'm just sayin', the concentration mechanic makes it WAY easier to balance spells

Just play it limited to the core three books forever!!!

    D&D 5E Magic Item Costs in 5E

Earthdawn has items that awaken and develop magical powers in the hands of their attuned owners, I always liked that.

D&D 5E The Multiverse is back....

Games without settings and lore are less fun than those with. I have meet many casual gamers who like the core lore of a game like D&D or Exalted or Traveller. It makes for quick familiarity and access to roleplaying "handles". I also find that if the GM announces a variant to the core lore...

D&D 5E First Session of HotDQ - WOW, what a meatgrinder

We played it. We barely made it We lost a PC who actively taunted the dragon. We rather liked the half dragon encounter. We were genuinely scared. I loved it.

    D&D 5E Morale Rules?

I usually use the 50% losses test and the loss of leader test. What I test with depends on the system, but 5e suggests to me a DC 10-11 save, maybe modified by WIS *in reverse*... After all of you are wise you will realise this is not going well and run or surrender. In brp games it's Pow*5% or...

D&D 5E The Multiverse is back....

I think a good setting for an RPG is important. When RuneQuest dropped Glorantha in RQ3 it lost a lot of its flavour. It's a very light touch in the 5e PHB and adds flavour but you can easily adjust your own recipe.

    D&D 5E Morale Rules?

I liked the morale rules in BECMI so much it's the only thing I kept in all my games even when I stopped playing D&D.
