    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

"I think we should follow Vatan's suggestion and secure the food stores first. Winter is coming, and we will do little good for these people if we save them from being butchered only to leave them to starve to death. Southward, to the grange."

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Pier stamps his feet into his boots firmly and then takes up his staff and other magical gear. "I am ready."

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Pier enters the common room at the tail end of the conversation, on his way to check the barricades. "You two should get some rest before charging into battle again. These folk have been here four days already. A few more hours will make little difference to the orcs. Besides, I'd rather fight...

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Pier allows the taciturn priest to withdraw to a corner and nurse his wounds, then he rejoins the rest of the conversation. "Well, the inn seems well-fortified for the moment, and some of us could certainly use some rest. I will take the first watch and stand vigil over Jude." He settles...

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Pier looks about wildly as soon as Druthruss speaks, but upon realizing that the archer is friendly, he relaxes and returns his eyes to the street behind until the wounded and vulnerable are through the door, then he steps through himself into the inn. Once inside, he quickly takes stock of the...

[4e] IG's The Witchlight Strand [OOC]

Oh, whoops! Yeah, as IG said, you have to add it after you post. I imagine it will be a bit inconvenient since I tend to write my action based on the quality of my roll, but it's almost certainly a limitation inherent in the software. There's no way to attach the roll to a post since the dB...

Go to tinyurl.com and enter the address you want shortened. Very handy for services where you have a hard character limit for a text field. Twitterers (twitterites? twitterese? Or just twits?) use it a lot.

Sahyr gets a checkmark. Sahyr gets an 'X'. How's that, Theroc? And if I'm interpreting this correctly, the checkmark means that the character has acted this round, and the 'x' means they haven't. Is that correct?

"Please, good woman, we will take you to the inn, but first let us tend to our friends." Pier walks to the fallen Jude and kneels next to him. He places his fingertips on the fallen warrior's forehead and extends his senses. He sighs heavily and says, "His spirit has fled, but it remains linked...

Looks like the vote came in before I was even aware of it! Welcome back, Theroc. And yeah, more healing good, although loaded dice would be better.

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Pier momentarily rethinks his decision to distract the orc, but he keeps his head and manages to fend off the monster. He keeps it occupied while Vatan approaches from the rear, but a sudden bolt of lightning lays the orc out on the ground in front of him, a bi charred around the edges. He...

I take it back. IG, keep ignoring the game; we'll live longer that way.

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

As the unknown priest goes down, Pier decides to try to intimidate the now-solitary orc with a display of his arcane power. He steps out of the doorway, shouting the words of his spell, and holds his staff aloft. It shines forth with a bright light as Pier flings bolts of force at his enemy...

[4e] IG's The Witchlight Strand [OOC]

I think what happened was that we PCs all rolled misses with our best attacks, and the bad guys all rolled crits. When we started, I thought this was going to be a relatively easy encounter, given the almost overwhelming power of Moment of Glory. Sometimes the dice have other ideas, though.

Nudge. I keep forgetting to keep up with the conversation here.

Pier curses as his target moves out of his line of sight. He shifts his attention to the orcs that Aridha has herded together, makes a quick gesture, and causes the ground around them to erupt into flames. Standard action: Scorching Burst Target: Square F1 Attack v B1: 1d20+5=21 Attack v B2...

I generally prefer to use the "most official" rules, although I'm loathe to give up the extra damage. Action altered to suit the new errata.

    [D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

edit: Revised action to reflect new errata. Frustrated with the repeated failure of his spell, Pier falls back on something more reliable. Bolts of force fly from his right hand toward the orcish shaman. Standard action: Magic Missile Target: G1 Damage: 7 Minor: Pass Move: Pass Magic...
