So, has everyone pretty much given up on Smallville?

It's entirely possible that the show was and is geared towards folks that only know superman from watching the occasional movie. They could be loving the "melodrama" without caring about the continuity. Then of course, there's the gamer/ superman fans that were looking for a superman story and...

    Druid...now THAT's a controller!

I thought that way too, until I reread "Controller". Wizards fit fine as controllers, since they handle large numbers of enemies at once. The thing is, they don't do it by dealing more damage, they do it by doing area damage which only really helps vs the 1hp underlings, which exist solely to...

    10% of brain = 100% stupid

Nicely insulted, but in this case it doesn't really matter between volume and mass, if you're saying that mass and volume are both light and thus the 10% of physical use is true. Oh, are you debating the percentage of stupid then? Is it only 86.3% stupid because of your "evidence"? Ah yes...

Ah, okay, I misunderstood the other posts. :) Thanks

So, has everyone pretty much given up on Smallville?

I would put forth that lots of the shows don't NEED a new post every week since they're just rehashing the same arguements, but that's neither here nor there. :) I've never followed Smallville, but am curious what the "reason" given was for no cape, anyone care to post a spoiler? Thanks.

    10% of brain = 100% stupid

Quite a longwinded overly intricate post, to say "some people with smaller brains are smart". It folds back into "does the myth refer to 10% of mass being used, or to 10% of potential being used". Your case doesn't answer anything because it can't assume that the smart guy with 1/10th brain...

At least until the battle is rejoined over how much money was actually made. :-p Also, it does mention Fox having notified them before principal photo began, so I win another point on the Internet Scoreboard! Woohoo!

    Advice for A WoW Prodigal

Yeah, pets and mounts are now "learned" rather than used. At least you realized it rather than the sheer panic some folks had when they disappeared. :)

    Advice for A WoW Prodigal

I don't know exactly when they changed the 1-60 rate, but yeah, it's much faster now. They just changed 61-70 just before Wrath, decreasing xp needed by like 70% (so, it takes a third of the old xp, but I'm not sure of the real rate, it is a big difference though). I just got my druid from 35...

Thanks a lot, I'll compare my list to my finances and see which buckles first. :)

3.5 Discounts (Forked Thread: New 3.xE Products in 2009)

If anyone sees any of the Dragonlance 3.5 stuff from SovPress, let me know, I'd like to get some of it cheap. (I enjoyed the material, but can't justify the price for something I'll never use.)

    Advice for A WoW Prodigal

I'm reasonably sure the "free month" is the standard new account free month and doesn't apply to his account. In addition, without having seen the guides, I'd wager both are outdated and useless, compared to updated online guides such as Wowhead.com and wowwiki.com. I'd probably say just...

3.5 Discounts (Forked Thread: New 3.xE Products in 2009)

It's come up before in most of the threads about why LGS's are dying. Too things really; 1) Cash flow/ store space: by ditching at a discount, you're getting some money to spend on next months stuff, and some space to put it in. 2) What a guy I know termed "first loss", from car dealers. It's...

From the court document; "In particular, Warner Brothers exercised its option to acquire Gordon’s rights after being placed on notice of Fox’s claim and having received the documentation upon which this Court bases its ruling." So, yeah, the timing seems to be that Fox said "no" and WB...

    Misconceptions about 3.5...Answers

And what if they present rules in supplements, such as Grapple? Do they reprint the grapple rules every time they have a monster that grapples, or do they reference the Big Book O' Grappling? Like I said, it flows to more than simply adventures, that was just something I mentioned in response to...

    Advice for A WoW Prodigal

For leveling, you'll head right into Outlands, where all your gear will swiftly be upgraded. You'll see more death knights than anything (since they clear their start zone at 58), but leveling 1-70 is a lot easier now than it was before, so I wouldn't worry too much.

    Advice for A WoW Prodigal

Okay, two expansions. 1) Burning Crusade=demons, another plane, also introduced blood elves (horde) and draenei (alliance). level cap 70 2) Wrath of the lich king=undead/scourge in a gothic icey land. lots of norse, lots of titan-mythos. introduced death knights if you already have a 55th level...

    Misconceptions about 3.5...Answers

I've only got the 4e PHB, have no plans on DMing 4e so don't need the other stuff. So, yeah, I don't know how they're doing stuff, I was just referencing the "stated goal" or 3e vs (AFAIK) no such policy for 4e. As I said in my other post, the inanity of the "reprint all" stuff is that it pads...

OTOH, Fox could have been trying to settle it for a long time without going the lawsuit route, and having failed repeatedly, went through with a lawsuit before it was too late. Now, it's entirely possible that Fox wanted an outrageous amount for the buyout of the rights, but IMO that'd mean the...
