Advice for A WoW Prodigal

Thank you all. I've now started into playing again, and there are indeed a lot of changes. I started by visiting my class trainer, then trying to figure out what all my abilities were for, and then I went hunting. I found at 60 that level 58 elite dragonkin weren't too much trouble to solo, even in my current state of accelerated ignorance. After that, I travelled down to the black gate and found my way to Thrallmar.

A lot of the things that changed surprised me. They got rid of the decaying-points honor system, but I can still stick my highest PVP rank in front of my name (which was apparently "Centurion.") My mount dissapeared from my inventory and into it's own new interface the first time I used it. Travel is a lot faster than I remembered, too.

Some things, I just plain didn't remember. I walked by the bank in Thunder Bluff and had a sudden flash of enlightenment when I realized that not all of my character's posessions were on his person. That was sort of a "Doh!" moment, but it helped me sort stuff out, since I apparently had left my character 3 years ago with only one inventory slot open amongst his 5 18 slot bags. Couldn't loot, and didn't recall what stuff in inventory was safe to sell.

Anyway, tonights goal will be to solo some quests and get the kinks out of combat. Further down the road, if I convince myself to keep playing I'll transfer to the server my buddies are playing on. Having fun so far!

Yeah, pets and mounts are now "learned" rather than used. At least you realized it rather than the sheer panic some folks had when they disappeared. :)

hummm... I should leave this thread and not look back (remembering the time when I got NOTHING for gaming accomplished as I was always playing WoW).

I'm probably gonna regret asking this but....
"The leveling is faster now"...
I haven't played since just before Burning Crusade....did they change the leveling math? One of the reasons I quit was because the game became such a GRIND after level 52 or so unless you did raids. I never had the 3+ hour time window to do raids.

Yes, the speed of leveling for the intermediate levels has been increased significantly. Also, you can level to 80 (the current cap) without needing to do any instances.
