    I DM Standing up

I stand up all session, especially to move minis around and such. Once a long session is over and the DM adrenaline stops pumping I'm exhausted both mentally & physically. That's the only kind of workout I get, I guess.

    Construct Creation?

No I haven't, but the wizard in the group I dm is getting to the point where he is considering it. I think its a cool idea, it certainly takes a lot of resources to do it, and am also curious to hear from those who have done so. My group could've made a flesh golem awhile back for real cheap...

Just finished the 3rd Black Company book...

I just finished reading the Silver Spike recently, though the Black Company aren't featured in it a lot of characters and loose ends from the first three books are and its definitely worth reading. I read through the first book a while back and really couldn't get into it, the writing style...

    Lost in Translation

I really enjoyed this movie a lot, although you kind of had to enjoy it as a potrayal of a certain mood or feeling, not for any real movement in plot. That said, I think it was overhyped and thought it was a shame that a far superior movie that came out at the same time (American Splendor, I...

How many of you have run or played in a solo-campaign?

Solo games can be great fun, both to DM and play. You can really focus on one character's personality, goals, and development. I think one of the nicest things is that you're not constrained into doing things just to keep a party together. Think of how many times in a campaign your character...

    How do use Slaadi?

I always wondered how to make slaadi seem chaotic. The way the always seem portrayed, appearing often suddenly and wreaking random bloody havoc, always seemed straight chaotic evil to me. So how does one make them something other than frog-headed demons, give them some twist of their own?

    Gond Follower Prestige Class Help

Yeah, the name slipped my mind. Thanks a lot!

    Gond Follower Prestige Class Help

Just a quick request of anyone who has the Faiths & Pantheons book handy, there is a Gond worshipping prestige class within it that eventually makes a robotic tick-tock companion. Can someone post the prerequisites for getting into it? I have the book but don't have access to it at the moment...

[nostalgia] Looking back at the stupid crap we used to do

I have vague memories of playing a campaign with a few friends when I was quite young and less than mature. I remember someone playing a halfling with a vorpal sword (at 5th level) that specialized in lopping off a lower extremity of giants, and um no not the legs. Someone else...

    Help My Campaign: Sloth

I don't have any specific advice, but something for people to keep in mind is that sloth as a deadly sin was more than simple laziness and 'couch-potato' mentality. It was tied to mental and spiritual despair, hopelessness leading to inaction. The gray waste is a great place for it. Its hard...

    Gnome Campaign

Just one last bump before the thread fades into oblivion. Could really use a good location in the FR or a couple of starting adventure ideas as I've been blanking lately. Thanks

    Gnome Campaign

Heh, thats a great image! Innocent gnomish troupe and buffoons by day, lethal killing machines for hire by night!

    Gnome Campaign

I'm starting a new side campaign with friends and we've decided to try an all gnome group. Everyone will have a reason to work together and trust eachother as they can all be a part of an extended gnome family. Better yet, I'm thinking that they can all be a part of a traveling gnome circus...

[FR/CotSQ Spoilers] Bane and Vhaerun alliance?

Its hard to picture them in a long term alliance; seems to me Bane lacks a sense of humor, style, and subtlety neccesary in dealing with the Drow god.

Are there any real DnD newbies?

These boards aren't that representative of the gaming population as a whole. Many new people I play with are casual gamers who don't care much about different editions or rules. I think almost everyone gets involved in the game through a friend who has played before, but many are familiar or...

    Field Folio art gallery

I like most of these monsters, a lot better than some of the stuff out there. However, most look like aliens more than devils and hellbeasts which I thought is what this book was all about. I'm not totally against this look and don't even have older editions to compare them too, but am I the...

    How do you handle mapping?

When I DM I always just draw out a crude map for the PCs as they go along. I remember having the hated task of mapping when I used to play, and how much it broke the mood to have to keep asking the DM how big is this room again? or do these halls align right? Just a personal preference to make...

What's the worst sci-fi/fantasy movie you've ever seen?

Hercules vs. the Moon Men... or maybe it was Hercules & the Moon Men... I often like movies so bad they're good but even I was in awe of its worthlessness.

[OT] What D&D terms would make cool sounding band names

Once I was looking through a bunch of crappy, cheap CD's in the used section of my local record store and actually saw a cd by a band called 'Chaotic Neutral.' I laughed and almost bought it just for kicks. It is a good rock/punk band name.

As a DM, what aspects of the game do you feel weakest in?

I do feel weak when it comes to wilderness adventures, especially outdoor combat. Many problems come from using miniatures, the white-board I use only extends so far and it's hard to convey the vastness of outdoors with one. "Um, this guy is about 500 ft. off this edge, etc." Also if the area...
