Another player once used a Detect Evil on my dwarven wizard. He was a paladin and my wizard had an undead fox as familiar.
BTW: someone once said to me Detect Evil only works on cleric and paladins, because they have an 'alignment aura' and other classes don't...this isn't true, is it? At...
I've been convinced by a friend of mine that the Seven Sisters idea isn't very good. So, this is my new plot:
Shar brings Karsus back to live and he is going to serve her. Karsus together with the Twelve Princes of Shade (including Telamont Tanthul, who is happy to see his master again) cast a...
I've got the 3rd edtion Lords of Darkness, but I can't remember reading anything about the Nether Scrolls, so they're probably only mentioned in the older editions. Too bad that guy from eBay won't ship to Europe, so I can't buy it :\
Anyone info in a pdf or something about this matter?
I want to let Mystra die and then the Seven Sisters take her place, all of them controlling one school of magic.
Just one problem, there are 8 schools and only seven sisters :uhoh: . I was thinking of Elminster taking the last place, but it would be cool to have another woman take up the 8th...
I friend of mine borrowed it, so I can't give you any details now. Well, let's see if I can find it on the internet somewhere....:
Look here and look for product 1142 in the Forgotten Realms section. It says: The North Campaign Expansion. It came in a box when I bought it from eBay, along with...
LOVE IT ALL!!!
Thanks for the hint on the box setting of The North, because...I've recently bought that one, but haven't got any time to read it yet.
More information is always greatly appreciated.
Part of my story is that I want to bring Karsus back alive and align him with the Red Wizards...
All great information! I've just started brainstorming on a quest that should take my player's characters from 1st to 25th or even 30th level, with the Forgotten Realms falling into a new era, a bit familiar to the Time of Troubles. :D
Any additions to the information already given is greatly...
I don't have any resources at hand right now, but I can give you some devious dungeon tricks (although some of them might already be in the Undermountain modules you have):
1. make the dungeon's lay-out change every time they close a door behind them
2. throw in a room with an anti-gravity...
1. What happened to Karsus after he casted his Karsus Avatar-spell in -339 DR?
My guess is he turned into stone, because I founded a Forgotten Realms Timeline which recorded Wulgreth (the wizard who was accidentaly turned into a lich by Karsus) destroying a city built near Karsus' stone dead...
I think most DM's do that when they create their first quests. With some DM-ing experience you learn that, when you know what's going to happen when the PC's do nothing, it's easier to improvise and make the world feel real... :uhoh:
At first thought they were great. Combats would become more real! :)
But after playing with them for a year or so, we threw them out again. Some combats lasted for 1,5 to 2 hours because everybody was thinking about ways to don't get hit by AoO's. We had many discussions on what was and what...
Hehe, dumb me...hadn't checked about the acid splash :uhoh: . But your explanation is an out-of-game explanation. It still doesn't make sense in a role-playing kind of way. I understand the system would become more complex if you take into account spell-levels for overcoming SR. But still, for...
Spell level doesn't count to overcome SR....that's bothering me! :]
It's just as hard to resist a Wail of the Banshee as it is to resist an Acid Splash  why?!?!?
Vision never bothered me... well till now
We don't use light, medium and heavy load. We changed falling damage to 1d10/10ft. We don't use a grid and therefor hardly ever use the 5-ft step and AoO (sometimes we use them, but it's the DM's call).
And some other, minor tweaks... ;)
