    The Sweet Spot

I asked a similar question (concerning the pathfinder rogue and their utility at higher levels- actual game experiences) and it would seem that people have not yet reached that far.

Ancient ultimate good and evil are fading, seek closure, legacy.

    Who ruined D&D's Rep?

My first thought. To be fair the game was aimed at a demographic lacking in cool cred.

    How do the Djinn live?

Cloud city with Miranets? I mean, as a starting point. The palace is likely to have some access for land creatures, but the main halls (yes, this is spelt incorrectly. No I am not going to fix it) should be 1001 nights-decor meets the blueprints for a zero-g space station.

    Debut: Ardent

    I'm ardent about it.

    What's your Fifth?

As a DM, I let the player know he can take any class, but ask that he look at the strikers first. They really are good or speeding up fights and removing complacency with the players.

A|State. Am I the only one?

I recently ran a short A|State adventure in The City. I loved the feel of the setting- the characters are points of light in a city so GRIMDARK it would make a Chaos Marine despondant- and found the simple, easy mechanics a breath of fresh air from 4th ed. The only problems I found were the...

More Dark SUn tidbits by Rich Baker

Maybe an expanded version of the 'rewards without magic' system in the DMG?

4E Class Survivor - Round 14 (We now have the final 5)

How the **** did the Barbarian survive this long?

Why won't you die, barbarian? WHY WON'T YOU DIE!!???

    4E Class Survivor - Round 12

Here's a penny, Barbarian. Go get yourself some martial powers.

    Rolemaster

Well it can go two ways. If your DM does not have an instinctive knowledge of what tables to consult or (more importantly) when to stop with the complexity, it is an awful, grinding game that is frequently bogged down in life-or-death situations that require upwards of an hour (it really...

    Assassins as a Heroic Archetype?

Isn't there an entire series of books concerning a sympathetic, moral (if somewhat wangsty) assassin written by Robin Hob? Very much a 'for King and country' line taken. Maybe you should look it up.

    4E Class Survivor - Round 8

Wizard. Yeah, I went there. I guess it has to do with the necessary but still a little jarring replacement of the 'master of magic' with the 'artilleryman only.'

    D&D 4E 4E Class Survivor - Round 6

    Warden. You. Will. Fall.

    4E Class Survivor - Round 3

Warden. Because, I really do not see the point. I only wish I knew about this earlier so I would have been able to defend the warlord, which I really like.

    High Level Rogues

The thing is I know what the class looks like on paper. Does anyone have any actual gaming experience? I'm playing the statted character from the setting at 3rd level and she's a blast, but I worry about the playability at higher levels.

    High Level Rogues

As a big skillmonkey lover, I was wondering if anyone has played with a high-level rogue yet for pathfinder...I found my last 3.5 campaign frustrating in that by level 9 the rogue began to lose his 'edge', with the attack bonus 'penalties' (compared to the fighter) and the magic-users making his...

Bringing Back the Odd, Strange, the Weird, and the Funny

Hilariously complex and fiendish traps that have the players chase the DM out of the room. Where is our 4th ed Tomb of Horrors? Can it even be done?

    It's Dark Sun

Full of life. Unnatural and strange to others used to a desert wasteland. Filled of unknown and mysterious threats. So far away and dangerous to get to it might as well be on another plane. Remind me again why would we need the Feywild?
