    IRON KINGDOMS UNLEASHED!

Who couldn't fall in love with a party of an Alligator, Amazon, Bowler-Troll, and Frog Chef-Shaman?

    D&D 5E Would a Sha'ir be a sorcerer or a warlock?

Well, that's the right basic mechanic. Though I'd call the charisma base for the class and powers relating to negotiating djinn pretty important as well.

    D&D 5E What's still missing?

I agree with this. I'd also like to see expanded advice for playing around with genre and narrative structures. I think something like Mouseguard's (or Torchbearer's) DM and Player turns system seems like it would be an interesting thing to experiment with in 5e.

    The Shackled City Adventure Path

4 out of 5 rating for The Shackled City Adventure Path Note: I do not actually remember if the volcano explodes. It's a great idea for a mega-adventure locale and highly adaptable to whatever larger game or setting you want to run it in. We used Iron Heroes for it, worked out fine. Among the...

    D&D 5E Would a Sha'ir be a sorcerer or a warlock?

I never really got a chance to look at it. What were its main features?

D&D 5E Maztica - Eagle Knights and Jaguar Knights

Sure, but I'd qualify shapechanging into one thing as a minor talent and then you could load a bunch of other minor flavor abilities onto the feat given their breadth in this edition.

    D&D 5E Would a Sha'ir be a sorcerer or a warlock?

To be the extremely odd man out, I plan on implementing them as bards, here's why: 1. The relationship of Sha'irs to Genies was very specific. They were not your patrons nor were they your ancestors. Rather you used the ancient accords established by the lawgiver, you charisma, and your trained...

D&D 5E Maztica - Eagle Knights and Jaguar Knights

Actually, I could really see them as feats geared towards certain classes. Certainly, I can see how they big enough archetypes that a sub-class would be a good fit, but here's my bit for feats: A) The type can really be defined by a very limited power/style set. B) In the source material the...

D&D 5E How do you feel about the Forgotten Realms?

I'm neutral on the whole in that there are things I would always take and things I would always leave. Pros - It's a great place to make a character the sheer array of options is impressive and it's replete with convenient explanations for why X from Y would be adventuring with Z. And I really...

D&D 5E Any Good Form Fillable + Savable Character Sheets?

There's an excellent g-drive 5e character sheet if that's your thing. Even prints out rather nicely.

D&D 5E How many (ancient) dragons would it take to destroy a (dwarven) city?

Short Answer: 1, if it's clever and the dwarves have at least mild competency issues, which isn't totally implausible particularly if the dragon has aggravated them through cursed gold and such. Still 1 requires a story or scenario and, obviously, limits the scope of the problem. Long Answer...

5E D&D Excel Based Character Sheet

I'm a fan of it so far, how does the HP section calculate?

D&D 5E What Subclasses would you like to see?

Well, everything from Al-Quadim, but to be more specific I'd like to see: Bard Sha'ir (Genie based) variant, everyone seems to want that off of Warlock, but I think Bard is closer to the original fit. If you build it so it could either be Fae or Genie based and then you get True Thomas so...

D&D 5E Does WotC suck at selling games?

So.... has anyone been paying attention to Thornwatch? Because the stated design goal there of a D&D that's as easy to pick up and put down as Ticket to Ride seems very to the point. I think WotC has been within throwing distance of that a couple of times. With the right pedagogical emphasis...

D&D 5E Barb vs Fighter vs Monk..vs Paladin!

Yeah, with all of the status effects it really seems like the monk is more a mobile hybrid controller than a straight up striker.

D&D 5E Slow Rests: Anyone Tried It?

I'm going to borrow a page from Mouseguard and use player turns (situations where you can scheme, resupply, and craft) and DM turns (danger beyond the walls). The default assumption is you get one of each per session. You can only get a real long rest on your player turn. I might allow players...

D&D 5E I LOVE 5th Editon... BUT... (Why No Simple Table of Rituals?) And Other Little Quibbles.

I agree completely that the design aspects of the book are weirdly un-user centered. I don't think it's all that badly designed a book on the whole, but it's strange that the spell section seems to be built to hide class features, that it's missing some of the broader utilitarian tables, and...

    D&D 4E Quick 4e Essentials Question...

The age range also indicates what sort of safety testing has been done. If you have smallish pieces & don't feel like testing to see what kind of cancers ingesting the product can give you it ups your age range. This matters less on book aisles but more in toys.

Which D&D Campaign World did you enjoy most?

Hellz, yeah. Al-Q is without a doubt my favorite setting as written. In addition to the Arabian Nightsness of it all I also felt it was the first 'Eberron' setting in that it provided contexts in which DnD tropes made a ton of sense.
