Is the grandson of a Baron a noble?

Thanks for the reply. I was just trying to think of how many nobles ( on avg ) would be in a certain size city or town. Just for figuring out how many the thieves can rob or blackmail, how many hang out in the salons, give out quests, etc.

Is the grandson of a Baron a noble?

I was looking around on the web trying to find out what qualifies a person a noble besides the obvious (Count chocula, King Vitamin)? Are there cousins considered nobility? Thanks. :)

Why no WOTC support for Greyhawk?

I agree about the content being really good, I loved the blood golem of hextor when it was introduced in the journal. I am just very lazy and have a hardcover fetish ;) The amount of posts I have are pretty pitiful.

Why no WOTC support for Greyhawk?

Maybe Erik from Dungeon could solidify his place in history by re-doing the city of greyhawk in Dungeon Magazine (I just re-subscribed; great work on the new Age of worms adventure path). :) That would be a awesome to see.

Why no WOTC support for Greyhawk?

I think what everyone would like to see is a hardback like the one the forgotten realms got (the people who worked on it did a great job and I only became a fan of that setting because of that book). I would buy it in a heartbeat :D

How Quickly is C&C Catching on?

I just wanted to praise the C&C a little. I want to say first that I love that 3.x has brought alot of people back to the hobby, including me. The thing about C&C that I like so much is that it plays, to me, alot like basic and expert dnd where I had everything in those books memorized like the...

Why _DON'T_ You Buy Dragon Magazine?

Since we have this forum I would like to contribute. I have been a subscriber for a while but am thinking of letting it lapse. Please get rid of the fiction (It's like beating a dead horse, sorry) I use stuff like the name generation tables (Inns, Taverns, etc.) The Creature Catalog idea is...

    energy drain question

I am creating notecards for all the rules I don't readily know off the top of my head. I think I have energy drain and negative lvls down pat but if a wight hits you with a successful melee attack do you automaticly just get a negative lvl or do you get a saving throw right then ( I now you get...

Learning the rules what's the best way

Can anyone give me some of the harder rule topics, because I'm going to make flashcards of them and maybe a little blurb on each. Maybe I can or other people could use this to cut and paste on notecards. I'll convert it to PDF and upload it to the site. Grappling Underwater combat, Etc Thanks :)

Learning the rules what's the best way

I think I'm going to make some flashcards and look into that battlebox. I heard about the battlebox at Gencon but my local gamestore doesn't have it so maybe I'll get it online. Thanks for the replies it helps to know other people are in the same boat.

Learning the rules what's the best way

Intimidate... crap. How about casting a spell from a scroll with a higher level spell then you can cast. Someone should make somekind of DM certification (it would be cool) that the community could recognize- DM - Adept - know the basics DM - Master - DM - Grand Master - Just a thought

Learning the rules what's the best way

Thanks for posting. The problem is I'm the DM and I come from more of a basic dnd background I came back to it with 3.0/3.5. I slow the game down when some player says he wants to wrestle with a goblin or jump in the lake with plate on. :(
