D&D 3E/3.5 Some 3.5->4e Races (Dromites, Necropolitans, Raptorans)

Totally. The XPH was one of my favorite 3.5 books, and it was the races that really set it apart from its 3e predecessor.

    Cross-gender PCs

Ditto; I see male players with female characters and vice versa in every campaign, and it simply is not an issue. In fact, I would never play with a group that didn't allow it; I would be really offended if someone told me I couldn't play a certain character because of my RL sex.

    D&D: Cartoon vs. Movie

I enjoyed the first movie. The second movie, not so much. But I love the cartoon!

5 rpgs I would take to a deserted island.

    1) D&D 4e 2) Spirit of the Century 3) BESM 3e 4) Star Wars Saga Edition 5) Etherscope

D&D 3E/3.5 Some 3.5->4e Races (Dromites, Necropolitans, Raptorans)

I wanted them to get a second language and, since there isn't currently any psionic material available, I thought I would play up the elemental connection.

WotC changes how D&D mini's are going to be sold.

All the powers introduced on cards will be collected and posted online within a day of the set's release, if not earlier, so I don't think the completionists have too much to worry about. edit - Or, like Merric suggests, they could be in the Compendium.

Forked Thread: The Best D&D edition for me.

I haven't DMed without one for over a year, and I don't discourage players from bringing them because I trust it won't be a distraction. As a player, I prefer to have nothing but my character sheet and dice in front of me.

    Virtual Tabletop Gaming Tips?

If it's the source of most of your problems, why not try eliminating whispering entirely? I've been DMing via VTT for about a year now and we very rarely use whispering to communicate.

How Do YOU Envision 4th Edition?

Totally! I've enjoyed Clue/Cluedo much more since I discovered RPGs.

    Class Popularity?

Interestingly, I have actually never seen a ranger in play. In my experience, warlocks have been overwhelmingly popular, but that's probably because it's a new and shiny class. In the two games I run: Human Star Warlock Half-Eladrin Rogue (Infernal Warlock) Half-Eladrin Paladin Dragonborn...

How Do YOU Envision 4th Edition?

I tend to envision most RPGs as anime, but the "That's MY D&D!" feeling you're describing? That was me the first time I saw Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Oh wow.

Within the three core books collectively, what's the % of 4E Flavor Text?

I guessed about 20%. What prompted the question?

    D&D 4E Gaps in 4e Design

    A ranger? :p

Not forgetting old powers, anyone tried it?

It might work for your group, but I wouldn't want to try it. My 11th level group has more powers than needed already, especially once you factor in magic items!

Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

Love Combat is fun every time. Hate Alignment. Not "why was it simplified?" so much as "why is it even here?"

    New 4E covers up!

I like me that Eberron Player's Guide cover. Can't wait to see it full-size.

    Rate 4e Dragon Magazine

5 stars. I have gotten at least as much use out of these issues as I did the print series. Unfortunately, as a poor university student, I probably won't be subscribing. At least I can still enjoy the four free issues...

    NPC encounter powers

I like to look at monsters in the MM who are about the same level and role as the monster I'm designing and tweak their powers. The "Monsters by Level" table is your greatest asset in 4e NPC design.

Possibly dumb poll: Playing vs. Running D&D Editions

I would play or run 4e. I would play (but not run) 3.5.
