    WIP (so what isn't?)

Minor threadjack in progress... I followed the link to the tutorial quoted here and tried to follow it. However, as you can see from the picture below, my Photoshop doesn't exactly do the same thing as in the tutorial. Anyone got any ideas as to why?

    World Map

Don't know about a free version of Photoshop itself, but The GIMP is a free (GNU) Photoshop "clone" that can do most of the things PS can. And, yes, the tutorials at Zombienirvanagames are awesome! Might take a little tweaking to do the same things with GIMP, though.

    Showcasing a friend's drawings - feedback appreciated

Doesn't that pretty much qualify one for being an expert? ;) But in general I agree with you. I'm just thinking that with the fairly solid start he already has (although "amateurish" by some standards), he should, hopefully, be able to go much further. Ah well, I'd send him off to art school if...

A more finished version of one of the drawings have been uploaded. Click the link in the first post to go to the site and see it in its full glory! Here's a preview:

    Showcasing a friend's drawings - feedback appreciated

Hello all, I told a friend of mine that I'd try and showcase some of his drawings and gather some feedback. Now, I've been mercilessly pushing him to start drawing more and more because I know his big dream is to make some kind of living out of his art. He's currently working construction to...

    Announcement Images on flash drive

Ayup, loving me some O'Connor goodies! It seems like Wayne Reynolds and William O'Connor are the two main artists on 4th edition (a very strong combo IMO!). According to the intro video, these artists are also among the concept artists: Lee Moyer, Rob Alexander, David Griffith, Lars Grant-West...

D&D 4E 4E: What we think we know

The thing is that you can already do all of those things now for a one time purchase + lots of free tools. Buy e.g. FantasyGrounds for an online tabletop, install e.g. Skype for voice and use one of the numerous free character generators available (PCGen, HeroForge etc.). All...

D&D 4E 4E: What we think we know

To me it seems more like William O'Connor's style.

    Religion on ENWorld

Okay, I had these thoughts mulling around in my head and couldn't sleep, so I had to jot them down and share them. I'll respond to some of the other posts at a later time. Here's what kept me awake  : The "no-religion" should be renamed "you cannot openly disagree with or express...

    Religion on ENWorld

Au contraire, but because you agree with the religious viewpoints being given, then you apparently can't see it from the other side, i.e. how it might seem pushy and offend someone.

    Religion on ENWorld

Let me try and explain my reasoning again. :) I have absolutely no problem with anyone around here being of certain faiths or not. I have friends who are deeply religious and I have some that are not. To each their own. What I have a problem with isn't really that people post religious...

    Religion on ENWorld

Maybe I haven't stated my "beef" properly. It seems to me that someone can say something akin to: "The way to get better is to embrace God in you life" and nothing happens. While if someone else goes out, e.g. in the same thread, and says: "Embracing God isn't going to help you Bud, ain't no way...

    Religion on ENWorld

In this case, it was, of course, because I didn't want to name anyone publically, like you mention further down (although if someone really wanted to find the post in question, I'm sure it's not that difficult). Like I said above, this particular poster has "proclaimed" his (newfound?) faith in...

Or use the Meta forum, which is what I'm doing. "Post comments and questions about the messageboards and other parts of EN World. If you have a problem, this is where to go." (yes, I know it's mostly meant as technical problems, although it doesn't specify it as such). Also, I think it's...

    Religion on ENWorld

Well, this poster has previously posted more clearly religious (Christian) influenced posts. As I said, the above is fairly "innocent" in this regard, but still an indicator of something that irks me. Especially since it's such a "small" reference. And the fact that I'm commenting on it is...

    Religion on ENWorld

I have a couple of concerns about the, in my perception, double standards being enforced about talking about religion on the boards (well, mostly the off-topic boards). Now, it seems to me that talking about religion in any kind of negative or inquisitory way is a very strict no-no. But...

    A question for the ladies

D'oh! Quite true. I also hear that modern day clothing is much more in fashion than some 2000 year old robes. :D
