    D&D 4E Another Group Tries 4E

It may have seemed more aggressive.........the big hit of the night for our group was probably the variety and choices they had for first level characters. That may have led to my worry as well.........will there be unmanageble variety and breakable "combos" at 20th level?

    D&D 4E Another Group Tries 4E

Hi folks.....delurking for some brief thoughts on 4E. Our group gave it a shot last night based on the preview information from DDXP and gleaned from these boards. (Thanks to all who've contributed, btw!) I ran a 4E Keep on the Borderlands for 6 players. My group is a long-standing group that...

D&D 4E Why the 4e hate on Wilbur?

    I preferred 1E Wilbur.

Ok...sell me on the Hollow Earth RPG from Exile Game Studio

I absolutely love it. I played it at GenCon last yearwhen it debuted and had a blast. It is not D20....it runs on its own system they call the Ubiquity Sytem (I think!). It played fast and simple. I also ran a one shot for my regular group and it was well-received. We're trying to set up part...

    Dallas Gameday?

I'd be interested........I'm good friends with some folks at Lone Star in Arlington. I could talk to them about participation on some level. I go to Gen X once in a while, but don't know them as well. I bet they'd be willing to help out as well though. Nice folks!

Interview with Scott Rouse, Chris Perkins & Bill Slavicsek

Thanks to Morrus for putting this together. I'm dissapointed that we waited on this all week. No content whatsoever. To have a decision in the works for over a year and have the announcement made in the manner it was is unbelievable to me. I want to give their new plans a chance, but I'm...

What do I want? An apology.

Bento, that cracked me up. I've been to the Ballpark twice in the last week. I'm beginning to get the feeling this won't be the Ranger's World Series Season.

What do you want to ask WotC?

My question for Wizards: In what manner or form will the digital initiative contribute to or carry on the history/legacy of Dragon and Dungeon? How will you accomodate those readers who prefer printed materials?

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Unbelievably long-time lurker here delurking for a quick post. Likely nothing new I can add, but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I'm very dissapointed in this decision. One of the things I love about this game is the shared community and history it engenders in players. I feel like Dragon and...

From the Pages of the Black Mask (OOC)

I still have the original handout and my character sheet. I may need some updating, as Ezekial Sawyer is only 2nd level! I know I missed a game or two, but I don't think it was very much.

From the Pages of the Black Mask (OOC)

The rich mahogany door to Faust's study flies open suddenly. Ezekial Sawyer rushes in, slams the door behind him, and leans with his back against the door. His hands rest upon his knees, obviously trying to catch his breath. "I think I was followed! This reminds me of that time in...

    Arkham Horror

My group tried it about two weeks ago and had a blast. None of had ever played the original, and none of us had read the rules prior to sitting down. We had a few rules problems as we learned as we went, but we are looking forward to a second playing. Also, the board, pieces, and cards look to...

    Dublin RPG scene?

Akrasia.......you should definitely look up Rydac when you get there! As a member of his Texas gaming group, I can vouch for his skills. A great DM, if you can talk him into running a game! We keep begging him to come home, to no avail.........

What would YOU do for a Klondike ba....

I got a really good laugh out of this. About three years ago, one of our players ate a really old military MRE for extra ep. The dessert included was a small packet of M&Ms. When he went downstairs to get some water, we noticed the M&M's packet was dated 1985. He said he was sick for several...

Just finished new Monte Cook adventure - Temple of Mysteries: In Media Res *spoilers*

I absolutely agree! I ran this twice for my group......we have 8 players so I ran for 2 groups of 4. We used the pregen characters, I built the Temple out in Master Maze and we had a blast both times. It captures the feel of Tomb of Horrors very well and has some great twists. Not many survivors...

Monte Cook's - Temple of Mysteries

I'm the DM who ran this for Gomez's group. I love the shared community aspect of running the same adventure and comparing notes later...very fun. I also loved the pregen characters. I felt like I ran a much harsher game for one shot characters than for people's favorites that they have spent a...

Have you ever used the 10-foot pole?

Yep....used one last Saturday in the True Dungeon at Gencon. Maybe it was more like a 7 foot pole, but the spirit was there!

GenCon mentioned on NFL Total Access.

I was at the Cthulhu for President 2004 rally which finished about the same time as the football game. The marching and chanting Cthuhlu crowd mingling with the football fans was pretty funny. From what I saw, everyone was pretty well-behaved.

Ezekial Sawyer Ezekial Sawyer, looks around, scratches his head, and mutters to himself..." where are those slack-jawed layabouts? There's weird goings on about town....."
