It may have seemed more aggressive.........the big hit of the night for our group was probably the variety and choices they had for first level characters. That may have led to my worry as well.........will there be unmanageble variety and breakable "combos" at 20th level?

I absolutely agree! I ran this twice for my group......we have 8 players so I ran for 2 groups of 4. We used the pregen characters, I built the Temple out in Master Maze and we had a blast both times. It captures the feel of Tomb of Horrors very well and has some great twists. Not many survivors...

I was at the Cthulhu for President 2004 rally which finished about the same time as the football game. The marching and chanting Cthuhlu crowd mingling with the football fans was pretty funny. From what I saw, everyone was pretty well-behaved.
