    The need to kill

There is a frequently depicted in movies/stories samurai code that requires you to draw blood with your weapon every time you draw it. If you draw it and then don't get in a fight, you have to cut yourself with it,. Otherwise you lose your honor and have to do the sword 2 the abdomen suicide...

    Timestop+Otiluke's Resilient Sphere

I'd say you -could- cast an ORS around someone during a timestop. However at the end of your timestop duration, they will still get a save to not get trapped in the sphere. This could cause problems since you wont know if they failed their save until after your TS ends. I'd say this is...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Collection of Tactic & Strategies

Wizards are your best friend. Clerics are your second best friend. If you are the BSF, make sure the players playing these classes like you! Cookies help.

    PrCs giving ability boosts

Forsaker is a custom class, and horribly broken. Also unplayable in a normal group setting. I'd never play in the sort of gaming group that has a DM that would allow this class. well...not more than once anyways.

    Pulling away a shield

Seems like you should be better at protecting your shield if you aren't trying to hit someone with it. I can see a regular disarm attempt to 'unready' the shield, but not to take it away since its physically strapped on. That could range from reducing the shields bonus by half to negating it...

Feat to improve "SPELLS PER DAY"

Off the top of my head, this comes across as way broken. Anything like this based on a HC cap is ugly, since outsiders and other critters like dragons with high hit dice and 'built' in casting abilities could feat-dump into this and suddenly be tossing spells 3 or 4 levels higher than their CRs...

    New DM looking for advice...

I want to start DMing a smallish group of friends, but I could some advice. Might sound funny because I have a lot of posts and I frequently frame stuff in the context of 'as a DM' or 'as a player' even though I've basically never DMed alone. I guess I am looking for general advice from...

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

Without resorting to rediculous stuff... SR 25 is crap for 20th level, so its essentially a giveaway. Any form of invisibility would seem to foil this character. And the things already mentioned, forcecage, Plant Growth, Wall of Thorns, solid fog, Sleet Storm, several Psionic abilities...

T.O.B. mounted combat w/strikes, pounce w/charge maneuvers, and bonuses stacking

I can only think of 4 maneuvers that involve charging off the top of my head....Boulder Roll(which I think does a bull rush), the 2 White raven strikes, and Pouncing Charge. All of these strikes specifically say you only get 1 attack. Except pouncing charge which duplicates the Pounce ability...

    Guild of Mordenkainen Nukers.

Disjunction is too powerful to not be an epic spell, alas... That's what contingency and Limited Wish/Wish/Miracle were made for. Or a Wish to switch positions with the next creature that casts Disjunction on you or that they also be affected by their own spell. Or that you and your allies...

    help with warblade

If you are allowed to take Robilars Gambit, see if the DM will allow you to take Karmic Strike. If the answer is yes, then you take it, along with Stormguard Warrior and combat reflexes. If you have a reach weapon its even better. Sorta depends on what you want to do too though. Leap attack...

    Improved Dodge?

That is regular Dodge if you use Pathfinder rules (which I recommend) I'm playing a 20th level toon that has had 3.5 dodge for like 15 levels and I remember to actually declare it once about every 3 or 4 levels. Stupid feat!

so, there's this level 45 evil mage...

The only way I can think of to beat a spell caster 20 levels higher than your party is Disjunction. Even if you could kill him, you don't seriously think he is in his own body do you? Or that he doesnt have like 30 different clones set up all across the world with copies of his spellbooks. Or...

D&D 3E/3.5 Using the Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player's Guide in a v.3.5 campaign?

I think pathfinder is done very well from a mechanics standpoint. They fixed most of what I would call power abuses from 3.5. They also made every class much more interesting and gave people a reason to actually maybe stay in 1 class for 20 levels. I just wish they printed better quality...

    D&D: mostly a boys game?

He's not a sexist...he has a female friend....his mother. lol Ok seriously though. D&D is not a boys game. That list of 'manly' virtues is hilarious. As has already been pointed out, I think you just insulted most of the planet. I find it extra funny given my own demographic. Being an...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Bard's power?

Core Bards = very sucky Bards with access to 4 or 5 extra books, including cross-setting sources = a very strong support class with stupid high Inspire courage bonuses. They can even hold their own in melee combat if they rely heavily on use magic device. In my experience, DMs do not react...

Who would want to play a non-caster?

"You would be wrong. If you have been around here longer, you would know from various threads over the years that I believe no gaming is better than bad gaming. You would also know that I am very selective about the games in which I will play. 1. The DM needs to have done work on the setting...

    Brainstorming on spell fixes

Generally speaking, at higher levels, monsters tend to have more and more of an arsenal to use. Just as PCs do. Defensive spells SHOULD obviate some of those threats, for at least some of the PCs. Otherwise, there would be a lot more TPKs. Throw half a dozen Spawns of Kyuss(CR like 5 or 6)...

Hierophant Spell-Like Ability: is the divine focus requirement still there?

As far as I can tell, you would normally have to be something like 25th level (barring DM fiat or retraining) to take that epic feat, plus you would have to spend a feat on Eschew materials which is normally pretty useless for divine casters. At those levels, why the fuss? You get millions of...

    Brainstorming on spell fixes

I don't think I much agree with a lot of things on that list. Some of them are good fixes, but some done seem necessary. I've never seen divine power abused. In most of our games fights only last 4-8 rounds. The only time divine power has ever even came into play, that was after Righteous...
