    Playing D&D With Pornstars

Well, there already is one for WoW; why not? Done well, I think it could be pretty cool. ... and we'd best leave it at that. :o

    Playing D&D With Pornstars

A blog by a guy who's running D&D for a bunch of alt-pornstars and and strippers. Playing D&D With Porn Stars: Hi Playing D&D With Porn Stars Even aside from the novelty value (which is immense: here's a D&D player pornstar on the bridge of the Enterprise :D), it's a decent gaming blog. Links...

Two questions - init order & weapon damage

A twist on the original question: if a power says "3[W] + Wis damage, if [condition is true] you deals additional 1[W] damage" is this 3 weapon dice + Wis + bonuses to weapon damage rolls (enhancement &c.) + 1 weapon die + bonus to weapon damage rolls; or 4 weapon dice + Wis + bonuses to weapon...

    Effects that trigger on bloodying/killing

Lifedrinker gives hp on a kill? 5 in heroic, 10 in paragon 15 in epic, right? It's going to be tough deciding between that and Oaths Fulfilled. And Jagged. And Withering. Magic weapons got a lot more interesting since they nerfed Bloodclaw. :D

    Effects that trigger on bloodying/killing

The phrasing is "you may act as though you had" bloodied/killed, which doesn't suggest stealing in any way (which, I agree, would be a rather annoying power).

    Effects that trigger on bloodying/killing

The Avenger Essentials article has a feat that lets an avenger treat their allies' bloodyings/kills as their own. What feats, items, &c. leverage that? All I can think of off-hand is Raven Queen's Blessing. What else?

Tactics for dealing with Blasphemy/Word of Chaos

Are you sure? The rules seem somewhat unclear to me.

Are special manuevers even harder than they were in the Beta?

That's the crux, isn't it? Being on fire deals 1d6 fire damage per round in 3.5, and I'm assuming the same or similar in Pathfinder. Being hit by a sword deals 1d8 + Str + magic + possible class bonuses + possible magic + ... In the specific bull rush into fire pit vs. sword strike example...

Tactics for dealing with Blasphemy/Word of Chaos

I can't think of anything other than Spell resistance and greater spell immunity that's both effective and commonly available.

I found the perfect image for my avenger!

Indeed it is. Severian was on my mind when I was making the character, so imagine my glee when I later read this: Why monk? I haven't even seen the whole preview, so I don't know exactly how monks work. What do they get that strikes you as particularly Severian-appropriate?

I found the perfect image for my avenger!

While "guy in a cloak with a huge sword" isn't hard, what really sells it (besides being awesome in its own right) are the birds. Avenging Echoes (hit target, anyone who attacks you or hangs around you gets damaged) is probably my favorite power, and I've been describing it as a flock of ravens...

Best level 7/8 spells for a high level evil sorcerer?

A planetar has Cha 22. That should easily be matched by a high level sorcerer. He might not bend the planetar to his will on the first try, but he'll get there, sooner rather than later. Probably overpowered, but I don't think it's cheesy, at least how I'd use the term: it's not subverting the...

Once the outsider is convinced to serve, it serves until the task is done, no?

Best level 7/8 spells for a high level evil sorcerer?

8th-level can get you greater planar binding which can get you "friends" which aren't minions by any stretch of imagination: planetars can cast 9th-level cleric spells! That'd be a pretty dastardly trick to pull on a party: they face a 16th-level sorcerer and a planetar, and get EL 16 XP. After...

On homogeneity, or how I finally got past the people talking past each other part

No, not really. I cannot accept that a high-level fighter can contribute equally as a high-level wizard unless there's some serious hoop-jumping going on, or that it's desirable that he cannot contribute equally. It's a very rare golfer that finds it more awesome to be helping out in football...

On homogeneity, or how I finally got past the people talking past each other part

Well, it's anecdotal, but a common experience for me and the people I play with is looking at a list of available options (powers at a given level, magic items at a given level) and I've played a 25th-level swordmage alongside a 25th-level sorcerer which was only hit on 15+ by attacks that hit...

On homogeneity, or how I finally got past the people talking past each other part

Isn't this also very present in 4E? Perhaps not as present as in 3E, but enough to be an issue? Opting for a shield fighter vs. a (pre-errata) battle rager fighter? Opting for warlock vs. a sorcerer? Opting to have any bracer slot item that's not iron armbands of power vs. iron armbands of...

On homogeneity, or how I finally got past the people talking past each other part

One downside comes to mind: the threshold for perceived imbalance is much lower. In 3E, a 7th-level wizard is casting 1 or 2 4th-level spells. A 7th-level sorcerer is casting 5 3rd-level spells. The wizard needs to pick in advance, the sorcerer can choose spontaneously as needed. But the wizard...
