Review of Marvel Heroic Roleplaying Basic Game by Margaret Weis Productions

Not even remotely accurate. Villains and Vigilantes 1st edition predates the release of Champions (V&V in 1979, Champions in 1981) and Superhero 2044, while bad, predates both of those. Allen

    Villains and Vigilantes comes back

Looks like Jeff has decided not to use the V&V Rules Upgrade in favor of going with the original (well, the 1982 Revised Edition) version. I'm ok with that. The Upgrade could still be used by those who wish, of course :) Allen

    Villains and Vigilantes comes back

V&V is back! V&V, the original d20 superhero game (well, it used a d20 at any rate...) is back, and currently #1 on the Hottest Items list on RPGNow.com. Version 2.1 has all new Jeff Dee art! A true classic. Allen

    Dr Who RPG

I don't quite understand the issue here...the rules include characxter creation for Time Lords. I run two games of this and neither Time Lord is The Doctor...in fact, I studiously avoid using him. I ran an adventure during the playtest with multiple Time Lords (well, actually multiple...

I need a Warforged Captain Paladin Savage Berserker

The Warforged Captain is from the Monster Manual...a 6th level monster. The Paladin is a class template and the Savage Berserker is one of the other kind of monster templates. Allen

I need a Warforged Captain Paladin Savage Berserker

..and I am having brain issues with the template system for some reason. Rather than making one for me (although I would happily accept that too), can someone talk me through the process? Oh...and can there be such a thing as undead Warforged? Allen

Traveller: which version do you play?

I do like the new Mongoose Traveller, partially because it is close enough to CT that stuff from it can be used very easily. There's nothing wrong with the original game though...works just fine. Allen

Traveller: which version do you play?

This is a poll to see what version of Traveller those folks here who play the game are using. If you don't play Traveller..please don't vote :)

    20th level Wizard spells

Over on the Wizards boards, it seems to be felt that the CustServ rep I spoke with was confusing retraining with replacing, and that when you REPLACE your 1st level spells you replace all three of them. Given that this jibes with the FAQ and the chart in the DMG, that's what I am going with. Allen

    20th level Wizard spells

I juat spoke with a gentleman named Tony at Wizards Customer Service and he said that when you replace spells at level 15 and 19 you replace only ONE spell from the three chosen (due to having Expanded Spellbook; otherwise it would be two). So that would mean you would have: two 1st level, two...

    20th level Wizard spells

That seems a bit confusing...if I understand this when I hit Level 15 if I want to replace my 1st level daily spells with 15th level ones because I have gone up a level, I have to replace all three? or can I replace only one and retain the other two? I am not talking about retraining due to...

    20th level Wizard spells

Noww...when I reach those levels where I can replace daily spells...do I have to replace all three that I gained from Enhanced Spellbook or do I only replace one? Allen

    20th level Wizard spells

9 wizard dailies and 8 wizard utility spells is what I came up with too. if I have this right, I can cast 4 per day of the wizard spells and 5 per day of the utility spells...but apparently the daily spells have to be one from each pair? I can't just chose the four that I want to use the most...

    20th level Wizard spells

I want to make sure I understand this so I am asking here... 1.) How many daily atack spells and utility spells does a 20th level human wizard with the Expanded Spellbook feat have in his spellbook? 2.) How many daily attack spslls and utility spells can he cast per day? (I am thinking its...

    Disarm rules

And you can disarm in 4e too. Its already in the rules...that section in the DMG that tells how to adjudicate things the rules don't specifically cover. Rather than worrying about there being no specific rules for disarming...just say you want to disarm. The DM sets a DC for the attempt (or...

Boy, Does It Ever Suck Not Getting Paid!

Feeling short changed by 4th Ed.

First of all, going strictly by the archetype from fantasy fiction (and its primary example, Conan), the Barbarian is misnamed. It should be the Berserker. Secondly, I haven't really seen it as being all that popular among the people I play D&D with. Interestingly, the people who liked playing...
