    Immortals Handbook - Ascension Discussion

The sun is made of positive energy in D&D terms, and it still burns. Anything is harmful if you get too much of it.

Not superior. Just different. Abrogate affects the basic score, and then the items add onto that. Also keep in mind, items can be sundered and disarmed far more easily than abilities can be Abrogated.

As I understand it, yes. That's exactly how it's done. Make it whatever size category you deem appropriate for its HD, and modify the ECL and CR accordingly.

I meant Great Strength, not Legendary, sorry.

    Immortals Handbook - Ascension Discussion

Just have to get to 50 Strength, and then blow all your divine slots on Legendary Strength. Maybe a weakness for Iron Body or some such would help, but it's probably not necessary. Starting with an 18 base, assuming a +2 racial bonus, putting all ability points from level up into Strength, and...

Adslahnit, I think you've nailed Krusty's single biggest weakness as a designer, even more than his chronic lateness. U_K, you have a really bad tendency to assume that everyone follows your thought processes, and sees your writings exactly as you do. Abrogate really does need all of that...

    Is Ascension for me?

Hell, you don't even have to reduce the price. When I buy a D&D book, I'm buying it for the rules, and occasionally story. If rules are crunchy, and flavor is fluffy, then art is a condiment. I apologize if that didn't make any sense, I wrote it at 3:00 AM.

    Is Ascension for me?

I'd be willing to sacrifice the art if it means getting the book for 3.5 in a reasonable amount of time. Heck, I'll even settle for reasonable by your standards. :p

    Is Ascension for me?

That's good news. Grimoire was the part I most wanted anyway. What's left to do on it besides the mechanical parts?

    Immortals Handbook - Ascension Discussion

Not really so much of a problem, when you consider that you can't affect anything besides yourself while a Time Stop is active. You can buff, summon, or run away, and that's about it. Delay Spell might cause some problems, but that's a fairly obscure, non-core metamagic, so I'm not too worried...

    Immortals Handbook - Ascension Discussion

Of course PCs could take less than 4. Why else is there a Vow of Poverty feat, the Forsaker Prestige Class, and your own Charity portfolio? The idea of someone being badass with no toys to back him up is a very compelling one. As a side note, is "each artifact gives abilities equal to rank"...

But regeneration won't do anything at all unless the damage they've already taken was nonlethal.

    Immortals Handbook - Ascension Discussion

Not what he asked, Krust. He meant, if a deity with cleric levels takes Extra Portfolio, can it prepare the spells associated with that portfolio in its domain slots and get the granted power? I would assume yes, from the latter part of your answer, but want to make sure.

You get everything the subtype would give you if you're at least a Prophet.

Wouldn't matter. The trapped one would "escape" at the time of death, and stay free while they both rejuvenated.

On Digestio, my take would be that a Transmortal being would rejuvenate as soon as the one who ate it was killed, just like killing a deity with Cozen returns all the stolen abilities.

I'd solve this by creating an ability (probably Cosmic, but maybe a strong Divine) that makes all your spells act as Supernatural abilities. They still take up slots and use your normal formula for save DC, caster level, etc., but they ignore SR, don't provoke AoOs, and can only be dispelled by...

    Custom divine abilities, portfolios, etc.

An Epic feat can give 2 spells known, or one spell slot.

Nothing wrong with Telelocation requiring Survival and the Track feat. Nope, nothing at all.

I think U_K said for simplicity that each artifact was worth either divine slots equal to bonus, or just one esoteric ability, for simplicity's sake.
