    D&D 3E/3.5 Edition Experience - Did/Do you Play 3rd Edtion D&D? How Was/Is it?

I voted that I played it and wasn't impressed. The reality is that I loved it at first but grew to find it tedious... especially when playing higher level characters.

AD&D 3?? Perhaps some can help me find this

PM me your email address and I'll send you a link to the old files (if I can find them). To be honest, the new rules are pretty much the same BUT bonuses to skills/checks got scaled back a bit. The old rules proficiency gave you a +1 bonus/level to skills and checks (while non-proficiency gave...

BTW, thank you for your kind words! I hope that you get to play using my rules and enjoy them.

AD&D 3?? Perhaps some can help me find this

I'm running some 1st edition adventures with it and, so far, it's been pretty seamless. Players are more powerful than their 1st or 2nd edition counterparts BUT still find the adventures to be a challenge. If anything, the bump in power level makes for a longer adventuring day... which is a...

    D&D 5E 5e 10/10 Products

I really enjoy the game but really wish that WotC would license out campaign settings to 3rd part publishers. I love detailed campaign settings, especially boxed sets with maps and multiple books... they help me dive into the lore of that setting and immerse myself in it. Eberron Rising from...

D&D 5E D&D's Classic Settings Are Not 'One Shots'

WotC should license out classic settings, like Greyhawk and Planescape, so that they can get in-depth, boxed set releases with large maps and multiple books. I'm sure that crowd-sourcing those settings would help minimize the risks of a product underselling.

    Unpopular opinions go here

WotC should start publishing fully fleshed out campaign settings again. Their current model stinks.

What's the WORST Star Wars movie?

I was going to add Solo but changed my mind... and then forgot to edit the # of films. D'oh!

What's the WORST Star Wars movie?

I never saw The Rise of Skywalker. After the first two sequels I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. If I ever ran a Star Wars game, there would be only 4 Star Wars movies that would serve as canon: 1] Rogue One 2] Star Wars 3] The Empire Strikes Back 4] Return of the Jedi

    D&D 2E On AD&D 2E

2nd edition is, definitely, my sentimental favorite... so much so that, when I wrote my AD&D3 houserules (basically I mash-up of Castles & Crusades and AD&D), I tried to make them as 2nd edition compatible as possible. It was the most versatile set of rules and, during its run, TSR put out a...

WotC Walks Back Some OGL Changes, But Not All

Too little too late. As Sancrosanct just wrote, "The trust has already been broken." Just the fact that they considered this shows that WotC and the OGL can't be relied upon.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

I'd love to buy this for 5e, as I have and love the 3e version, but it's a bit pricey for the option that I'd like. I wish there were a cheaper option for just the main book and 5 Player's Guide in print (with no PDFs). Pledge $220 or more HERO OUTFIT YOUR GAME GROUP! You get Ptolus in print...

OSR Which retroclone/OSR game is closest to AD&D 2E?

Hi, I've made a D20 retroclone with 2E in mind. It's available on my website: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Resources & Links Page There's a Player's Handbook, DMG, and Monstrous Manual. It plays much more like 3E or 5E but scales back class abilities to make them more like their AD&D...

AD&D 3?? Perhaps some can help me find this

Hi Daern, I wanted Morale to be handled like other ability checks/saving throws for consistency's sake. It worked well enough BUT use whatever system you like. I'm sure that the old system (which I've totally forgotten) can easily be ported into the rules.
