    I've been naughty...

What? You think that's naughty? Bah. That doesn't hold a candle to the time I picked up "Midnight", the Warhammer Empire book, the Dragonstar Galaxy Guide, and Masters of the Wild. I got them home, placed them on my living room floor, and rolled around on them nekkid to get all that gaming...

    Sorcerers

What books do you have access to? Energy subsitution is a good feat for a sorceror. It lets you change out the energy type of a spell, which is a nice thing to do when, say, your best evocation is a fire spell and you're going against lava elementals or something. Don't forget the defense and...

[OT] But at what cost ?!

So I get to live until 2600 but I have no ... um ... "little geekus"? Forget that! I guess there really are some things worth dying for!

Looking for a different core system

My two cents... Pendragon - very good if all your players want to play knights. There is no "sneak" skill or the like, because knights don't sneak around. Therefore you don't need the skill. Great system for getting powergamers to roleplay. But, yeah, I'd nix it if I had to deal with Monty...

    Soneillon. Part 2. (Updated 10/7)

He's said that he takes some notes, most of it is from memory, and that his memory isn't always perfect. He makes up the NPC-to-NPC dialogue just for us. (thanks Sep!) Oh, and Sepulchrave and Sepulcharave II are the same guy. The forums ate his login so he made a new one.

    Ed Greenwoods Castlemorn

My understanding is that E.G. did have a lot of creative control under 2e. I think this is more likely. E.G. is a very, very prolific writer and has often stated that he has an entire filing cabinet of notes.

Chick strikes again! What do I do now?

I find Chick to be a fascinating character. There's an article on him somewhere out on the net, I'll see if I can find it. He doesn't do his own art or at least he didn't for awhile. Its not like there's one guy in a closet producing this stuff. Anyway, in regards to D&D, I always get a kick...

    Fantasy Hero

I disagree with your premise about viable builds, but FH is a good system. The transition from supers to fantasy is pretty easy. All the "powers" become "spells". There's certainly a little more flavor than that, but I'm sure you get the drift. Of course, I haven't looked at it since around...

    [OT] Hasbro profits up.

I would be surprised if D&D was a significant contributor to WotC/Hasbro profits, but this is still good news inded.

    Half-Giant?

From the 3.5 SRD Hmmm. Size "Large". That'll probably have to carry over or your player/NPC won't really feel like a giant. So make the guy size Large. The base giant abilities are pretty easy to go over: Str 25, Dex 8, Con 19,Int 6, Wis 10, Cha 7 means +14 STR, -2 DEX, +8 CON, -4 INT, +0...

Do ranged attacks break the hit point mechanic?

The hit point mechanic is a little more abstract than that. The bullets don't nick the hero, they outright miss. Hit points are also a reflection of luck and fatigue. They're kept pretty vague. Or your can play in Hong's game where hit points are a measure of your dude-osity and manifest...

(CLOSED) Morningstar Give-away #4: And the Winner is: SHADEUS!!!

#6 <- I am not a number! I am a free man! I'd like a giant temple raised to my glory, not unlike the Taj Mahal. Children would know of my deeds and travelers would come for tousands of miles to see the mammoth work of architecture. At the center of the building, would be a fifty-foot statue...

[Poll]Will you buy and use AV's BoEF?

No, but this is a niche product. I'm not in that niche.

    What makes a good campaign?

Hey, great minds think alike! Besides, your "TPK" made it funnier.

Dragonrance. I play with Scooby Doo.

    What makes a good campaign?

What is a good campaign? To crush your players, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women! However, a close second would be.... 1) A bad guy, not necessarily reoccuring. The players can have contact with the BBG, but I'm not a fan of them actually meeting him...
