D&D 5E Monte Cook's Ptolus Kickstarter Has Launched

You could run 5 or so campaigns from 1st to 20 and not use the same material twice. Maybe more. It has so much room to run almost anything. Yes. If nothing else it is a great read

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

3 of those listed are same setting world. 1 of those JUST came out recently. There are so much that could be but isnt.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Thats something id like to see. Its whats missing in the 5e era. Variety of settings.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

For reference, the book was $120 14 years ago. 30 dollars more in that time isnt bad

Gods i miss that forum. So much useful information lost, so many campaign stories lost.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

The fact is you claimed it didnt have usability might be the reason i asked. Setting is quite alive without those tables if you read it. I played a 5 year campagin and dont think we hit even a fraction of whats it the book. Hell i bet we could play 3 more 5 year campaigns and not deal with...

    D&D 5E Am I no longer WoTC's target audience?

Then tell wotc to stop stealing parts of it to reimage in FR. Still has tons going for it

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Are you really arguing that without random tables it doesnt have use ability? You might have purchased it, but you couldnt have read it very well. Has tons of use ability and hooks if you read it. Each section has hooks in it. Chaos cults, hunger swords, druid center in the center of cemetary...

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

And maybe this time we can find a place for ptolus discussion that will stick around. ALOT of good ptolus information, ideas, campaign writeups and other stuff got lost forever after montes forum crashed.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Yes. I barely scratch the surface with what i listed. As you can see, its quite a bit

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Everything. Multiple districts. Races and classes. Plot lines out the rear. Sewer adventures. Dungeon adventures- delvers guild in fact. And the cemetary with a druid grove in the middle, and of course the spire itself. Alot.

    D&D 5E Am I no longer WoTC's target audience?

Does it though? Starve the consumer long enough to buy the next book? Or does it also force/let people to look elsewhere for products to fill their needs? Go to 3rd parties for items or spend money on entirely different systems? Or a bit of both?

    D&D 5E Anybody Seen/Played Frog God's Tegel Manor?

Picked it up recently. Havent read it yet.

    D&D 5E Am I no longer WoTC's target audience?

Nope. I already know i am not the target audience anymore. And not just WotC. Could other game companies as well. And its ok. I buy and take what i need and ignore the rest

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Yeah. All those side bars and adventure hooks, you see that idea of heres a couple adventure hooks for this place used in various 5e books and beyond- mutants and masterminds for example

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

I bought the orignial book back in 2006 preorder. For 120 dollars which was and outrageous sum for a game book back then. But it was totally worth it. Played in a 5 year campaign that was well worth the price tag. I want it. But its all going to depend on price. I would pay the orginal price...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Understandable. But in that case one cant use Lisa's words that everything is great as proof. It is her job to keep it goingbin that manner. Piazo isnt a publically traded company so alot of infornation doesnt have to be released like in microsoft or hasbros case. I just dont see her quote as...

D&D 5E Nobody Is Playing High Level Characters

Meh. I disagree with the way to play a high level game is to start there. The ability to affect the lands and people as you grow in power doesnt cause fatigue. But to each thier own
