    HeroForge!

BlackBart, First, thanks. Second, you posted a quick'n'dirty how-to on adding feats on the first page. Could you post a quick'n'dirty how-to on adding races? So far I've found: 1) Add race to the 'Race Info' sheet. 2) ?? It has something to do with changing the drop down to include the line...

STR vs. BAB (a.k.a. Is level adjustment worth it?)

One other thing I had forgotten is that the half-dragons can use a bite attack in addition to the two-handed weapon. So they'll get the same number of attacks as the half-orc AND have a higher melee attack bonus for the last one (bite at -5 vs. weapon at -15). -Gak Toid

    The Legendary Grappling Monk

I post this everytime this topic comes up: It's a little complicated, but it'll give you an idea to create a house rule from. Alternatively, take a look at Awesome Blow from the Monster Manual and create a house rule or feat from that. -Gak Toid

STR vs. BAB (a.k.a. Is level adjustment worth it?)

Comments I forgot to change the half-ogre HD to d10 due to the half-dragon template. That will give those builds a couple of extra hit points. Gort, * That's why we've added the 2HD of giant. We felt it was more accurate than making it +2 LA. As you can see, it ends up pretty balanced...

STR vs. BAB (a.k.a. Is level adjustment worth it?)

DOH! I assumed the class would be the same as the template (as it was in 3.0). I guess the saying about "assume" is true. -Gak Toid

STR vs. BAB (a.k.a. Is level adjustment worth it?)

STR vs. BAB (a.k.a. Is level adjustment worth it?) I've had a desire to play a half-dragon with wings. Since the Dragon Disciple no longer does this, the only other way would be to play a size large half-dragon. The lowest ECL for a large sized PC is a Half-Ogre. So I started comparing the cost...

    Crowd Control?

I had completely forgotten about that. Maybe if Piratecat had updated his story hour more recently it would have stuck in my mind. :) Is the Wall domain specific to that story hour or is it from a book? -Gak Toid

    Crowd Control?

Thanks Elder-Basilisk. Final question (until I think of some more): Are there any spells of the same theme in Magic of Faerun? (I don't have that book...yet.) The wall of chaos/evil/good/law spells seem useful. -Gak Toid

    D&D 3E/3.5 Devoted Defender, 3.5

As far as I know, Sword and Fist is the only version. -Gak Toid

    D&D 3E/3.5 Devoted Defender, 3.5

Just a general poll/query. What's people's favorite Devoted Defender builds? Combat reflexes and combat expertise seem to be "a must have", so Dex and Int should be 13+. Some ideas: Fighter 5 Cleric 7 Swashbuckler 5 Barbarian 1/Ranger 2/Rogue 2 Fighter 4/Rogue 2 Monk 7 -Gak Toid

    Crowd Control?

Thanks for the ideas. A few follow up questions. * Are there any prestige classes that would help? * What feats would be most useful? * Given a spell list focused on the examples above, would a sorcerer or wizard be more useful? -Gak Toid

    Crowd Control?

After a brutal TPK in CotSQ all six players are creating new characters. One of the major problems we had during the TPK was the inability to control the flow of combat. Liberal use of wall of fire provided some protection, but was not enough. So, I'm considering making a character that...

    [Complete Divine] Rapid Spell

How about a rapid quickened permanency? (via 10th level spell slot, metamagic rod, or divine metamagic) -Gak Toid

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

So, if you want to use escape artist or a strength check you only need to succeed once. But if you use a weapon it's four times as hard to get free. Odd. -Gak Toid

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

That would make sense, however: Bolded the relevant part. -Gak Toid

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

Thanks again. You're effectively treating the web like it fills the whole area, not like a planar effect. Which bring me back to my question. Is it planar (between squares) or an area (in squares)? You've answered both ways. . = empty square T = tree | = planar web w = area web O = orc moving...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

Thanks AuraSeer. Of course, if it is a plane and spun horizontally, that means it's either at a height of 0 or a height of 5 feet (assuming a 3 dimensional grid). If it's at 5 feet, medium creatures will walk under it. Unless humans are supposed to be medium (tall) sized. I wonder what happens...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

Let me clarify what I ment. A) Reduce person says that "Multiple magical effects that reduce size do not stack.". B) You only make a save for reduce person at the time it is cast. Even if Bob readies an action to cast reduce person at the same time Alex does, the spells still come into effect...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

There is one difference. Casting reduce person is an instantaneous affect. You can't be subject to two castings of reduce person at the exact same time. Web/entangle/grease are all continuous affects. You can be subject to two (or more) concurrent castings of web/entangle/grease at the exact...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Multiple Spell Effects (3.5)

Multiple Spell Effects (3.5) I did a brief search but couldn't find an answer to my questions. If these have already been answered, feel free to simply post a link. 1) Can someone describe the "sheets of sticky webbing" option that monstrous spiders can use. Specifically, what's the area of...
