For D&D, always. (I use counters rather than minis, though.) I don't feel that having a grid necessarily runs counter to creativity, and I've seen too many combats turn into unplayable messes without one.

I picked it up at my FLGS yesterday, after pining for it all week. ;) IMO, it's a very well put together book, with great touches like "Five things every Cyran knows." I like the approach of statting some of the major NPCs, and including in-depth adventure hooks -- overall, I'm quite pleased...

I always liked the gold box idea, but I hated what was in mine -- so I stopped checking it. But this new approach rocks! Everything in my gold box today was something I'd consider buying, and they were nearly all gaming books. Thanks for the FYI! :)

Would you mind swapping the text color for one that reads well on a dark background? Also, what kind of balance help do you need -- are there things about the class you think are unbalanced, or are you just after a once-over?

Agreed. I'd put MoF and PGtF after that one, followed by whatever sounds useful. I haven't been disappointed with any of the 3.x FR books (unlike the tail end of 2e stuff...), and they've all got handy things in them. :)

It always reads as "sire" to me, but "see-ree" is actually a neater pronunciation. After so long reading it as sire, I wonder if I get wrap my brain around see-ree? ;)
