    Detecting Magic Items

This is a great example of when, as a DM, you need to start "fudging" stuff. In most cases I would have run this exactly as you did, but since there was a real need for the Rogue to get this items (well, any really) I would have come up with a secondary way for the items to be discovered...

    It's a Spell, Not a Grenade

It's a skill stunt for the arcana skill. Basically it is a use for the arcana skill. I would probably make it part of an attack action with a DC equal to the easy DC for the level of the power plus the magnitude of the change. So a 3rd level spell where the player wanted to change an Area...

    Bright Light / Dim Light

We do something similar, we treat the last square to be dim light. Simple, with the least amount of changes to core.

Bah, I should have check the updates...oh well, good catch GorTeX. Ouch, I'd hate to see that happen.

    Reliable debate

If your the DM the rules lawyer can talk until he is blue in the face, it is your game and you decide. To actually address your question; I think it is not so much about the strict interpretation of the rule in this case. WotC has said on many occasions that they did not give all the answers...

    Arcane Artillery (Paragon Path)

Even though it is an encounter ability it really could be abused, I changed the stunned until end of next turn. I really like this, it fits with the concept in my head more. I also added the restriction of once per round (I brain farted that, it should have been there). As it stands, none...

    Arcane Artillery (Paragon Path)

Thanks! Yeah, sorry but Ranged Weapons have enough love in my opinion ;).

    Eldritch Burst

I did not change the target line. It would still read one creature. In this case the one creature is burst would be implied. I suppose I should have mentioned that explicitly, but I assumed it was obvious.

    Eldritch Burst

I was going for a more melee Dark pact Warlock. I will be using close instead of ranged powers (when possible) and taking heavy armor. Not exactly an efficient build but that's not what I'm going for. Since there is not at-will close powers for the warlock I thought I'd pitch augmenting one...

    Arcane Artillery (Paragon Path)

Forked from: Oppertunistic Support So here is a first pass at PP for an ranged arcane character. -------------------------- edits - formatting - cover fire now requires ranged - knock off guard no longer provokes OA from allies adjacent to the target - cleaned up wording of artillery...

    Oppertunistic Support

Thanks for the feedback. The intention was to give some ranged classes some opportunity love. I like the combat reflexes requirement, but I really dislike ability score requirements. I was leaning towards Paragon but wasn't sure. In my head this started as a power but a feat seemed easiest...

    Warlord; Quick Distraction (at-will)

Thanks for the feedback. So I reduced the distance of Quick Distraction, I couldn't do 1, that just seemed to low, so I went with 2. Although my figures what Opportune Moment to be a reaction, they are wrong, it is now an interrupt. I am going to make it 6th level and tone it down. I removed...

    Warlord; Quick Distraction (at-will)

Warlord; Opportune Assist (utility) Thoughts on balance? Also, I'm not sure of the level. edits: - is now an interrupt - gave it a level - removed the use of a power - changed ally's attack to free action

Chance to hit decreases as you level

This is similar to the idea my Rogue pitched to me. She suggested a fear (no prereqs) that lets you use Dex on MBA attack rolls, but not damage rolls. Her logic was that then the STR rogue would still have an advantage over the CHA rogue (even if they both took the feat).

    Warlord; Quick Distraction (at-will)

Balanced? I am worried about stepping on the toes of Commander's Strike and Brash Assault. Also, is this too much of a departure from the Warlord's melee shtick? edits: - reduced distance

Chance to hit decreases as you level

Did you read this thread? From the first post I was looking for a way for my Warlord's decision to take (and use) commander's strike not be completely wasted on a low STR rogue. A +2 at 11 and 21 to prevent her from only hitting with an MBA on a nat 20 is very far from wanting all characters...

Chance to hit decreases as you level

And that never made you think maybe there is a problem with MBA?

Chance to hit decreases as you level

I have (see earlier posts) To me, having to have a bonus to meet the standard level of performance implies a penalty if you do not have that bonus. Since a goodly portion of those bonuses are from powers then you could make a choice that hurts you on a core/fundamental system level. This...
