    PC Scavengers

That's exactly what I've always done when these things happen. I find it to be a lot better than "you wake up naked, having be captured in the night, your posessions missing..." Luckily, no one in my former groups ever expected such. Though, a few times we had a guy that would get killed and...

A thing about d20 D&D I didn't like, and still don't know why it was done...

I'm not sure I could apply this logically. Trying to justify the multitude of XP charts based on who learned what and how they applied it just doesn't make sense, imo. If you were to get that in-depth, wouldn't higher int or wis characters gain more experience because they can apply knowledge...

Why is preventing psioninc DC augmenting bad?

Unless you get the schism power (IIRC). It splits your mind into two, so you can do one thing (full attack) while your mind does another (use psionic powers). I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I looked. Boy wouldn't that be scary!

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

I think that would be going a bit far. In terms of the gaming world, killing a sentient creature isn't wrong. It's who you kill and why that makes it good or bad.

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

OK, just one simple question. If you would... 1. Torture the man who poisoned the town to get the antidote.. 2. Hit the switch so that the train kills 1 man instead of 5.. 3. Throw the life preserver to the drowning man.. 4. Kill "Baby Hitler" to prevent all the misery he caused.. Are you...

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

All of this discussion has put an odd question in my mind. It'll start with an example of a man.. This man becomes a political leader, loved by his people. After a few years, he starts a war. Then another. Vicious deeds are committed at this leader's word. Millions die. Even more suffer...

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

We were all pretty low level. Not near enough cash to be able to afford a raise dead spell. Our low level is also the reason we didn't find a magical way to get the guy to talk and had to resort to physical pain and suffering. I suppose you could look at it like that. At the time, we had a...

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

I've seen a scenario about torture played out before, but it was kinda disturbing. One of the group had a son that was kidnapped. He was buried alive, but we caught him. We had to decide wether or not to torture him to find out where the boy was in time, because there was no other way he...

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

I agree with "good by any means isn't really good in D&D", but I disagree that "evil through good means isn't really evil". It's a double standard, yes. It's unfair. However, you can use good to commit evil.

    Embarrassing moments in gaming history

This bit of hilarity ensued when we chose pregenerated characters. Two of them had been orphaned, mine was a human male warrior and the other was a human female bard. The girl playing the bard was used to getting her way, so naturally she liked to pal around with the strongest party member...

How would you classify "Good by any means neccessary"

The Assassin from Serenity sounds like the kinda 'good' you're talking about. I read the Shadowbane Inquisitor and this guy wanted to play one. The abilities of a paladin, with the freedom to be an evil jackass (as aside from a L-Stupid jackass)? No way. I allowed the class, without the...

    What is Ptolus?

That seems a good deal, but I'm faced with a huge dilemma. The cost of the book is pretty steep (wife-aggro), and in my current area (Poplar Bluff, Missouri - it is as bad as it sounds), not too many people know how to read, let alone role-play. The chance I'll get to use the book within the...

    What is Ptolus?

How much longer will you be able to buy Ptolus as a book? I really hate PDFs.

    Stupidest Things DMs Have Done

This guy I played with was a great player, but not a very good DM. He would have great story ideas, but there were a few problems.. He LOVED Dwarves. He thought Dwarves were the "master race" of DnD. He had an NPC join the party. Oh, what race? hahaha... The Dwarven Fighter that joined us...

    OotS 393!

I can't wait for the next one! I must check OotS at least twice every day.

    Sex with the DM

My wife doesn't care for DnD, so she pretty much gives me 'favors' not to have to play. Does that count? lol... she's a WoW addict :(

    Balor vs Solar Q

That's what I would go with. I think Vorpal weapons are a little overpowered anyway.

How big is the Blood War?

I had that Bloodwar boxed set back in 2e days, and it was really nice. Unfortunately, I was never able to put it to much use. On a homebrew world, the PCs were a big force. They were all around level 14. They'd just defeated the BBEG, who was the nemesis of their campaign, and were moving on...

Where have all the heroes gone?

Poplar Bluff, MO. There a card-gaming shop here, but not much in the way of gaming.

Where have all the heroes gone?

Not at all. :) Nearly all of my (or my other friends/players) evil-doing in campaigns usually fell under one of three circumstances. 1. It was expected before the beginning of the game (evil campaign, anything-goes campaign, one-shot, ect). 2. The game was going downhill, so we decided to...
