    Dragonbane Announces Two New Books

I have never understood the aversion to roll low.

Level Up (A5E) No explanation for what a Reaction is in the AG

That wasn't my pint. My point was if the main source document was the 5.1 SRD, it might have gotten missed that it was missing from there, too.

How Long Do You Wait Before You Houserule a New TTRPG?

That's a lot of "avoid feel bad" tweaks for a game intended to be tough.

Daggerheart Review: The Duality of Robust Combat Mechanics and Freeform Narrative

Emphasis mine. I think that is the better way to go in a situation and system like this. Fine, the target goes out for copy and the party grabs him. But when they are halfway to the delivery point, he starts to go into cardiac and his DocWagon Platinum activates. Now the PCs have to deal with a...

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

Grab the SRD. It is very complete.

How Long Do You Wait Before You Houserule a New TTRPG?

Can you give an example of something you have houseruled before even playing because you knew your group would not like the rule as designed?

How Long Do You Wait Before You Houserule a New TTRPG?

I actually made this poll because i see people saying stuff like that all the time. It baffles me, but you do you.

Level Up (A5E) No explanation for what a Reaction is in the AG

I wonder if it is also missing from the 5.1 SRD and that is why.

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

In my opinion and experience, that just isn't true. Even Mercer acknowledges he sometimes has to fight the system to tell a story.

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

I don't think anyone is disputing that the D&D stuff gets more viewers. We are disputing the idea that D&D makes better "story" than other games.

Daggerheart Review: The Duality of Robust Combat Mechanics and Freeform Narrative

I definitely feel like the inspiration section is there in part to get people to try all these games.

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

No, not "clearly." It was a combination of a much anticipated IP (Baldur's Gate, not D&D) and Larians absolute dedication to the quality of the game and responsiveness during early access. People that are absolutely certain that D&D is what put it over the top have a deep misunderstanding of the...

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

What I am curious about is why you think this is true.

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

I don't think there is any evidence for that. I think this is failing to understand that Larian's success with their recent D:OS games gave them the money and space to really go all in with BG3. If D&D was what made that game successful, Solasta would have been a bigger hit. It wasn't, because...

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

People often mention that the non-D&D CR videos don't do as well as "evidence" that D&D is a better storytelling engine. That seems totally backwards to me. People are afraid to learn other games -- and evidence suggests it extends to simply watching people play. That seems crazy to me -- but I...

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

I decided to go all in and both sub to Demiplane and get the DH core rules on Demiplane so i can run it remotely (with the help of Discord). I wish it had launched with Fantasy Grounds support, but alas.

Daggerheart Review: The Duality of Robust Combat Mechanics and Freeform Narrative

You have a damage threshold for each of those 1-3 HP hits. If you take the highest threshold in damage, you mark off 3 HP and so on. You can use armor and some other special abilities to reduce that final damage, usually at some sort of cost (armor usage, hope, stress).
