Level Up (A5E) The Sadness that is Wilderness Lore (Ranger 12)

"Waste Not: With 10 minutes work you can scavenge valuable cuts from the corpse of a beast, dragon, monstrosity, or plant that has a CR of 1 or higher and has died within the last hour. If sold to a collector, druid, or other naturalist, this notable component is worth an amount of gold equal...

Level Up (A5E) Random LU Feedback

It's definitely a situational thing. My player's haven't taken advantage of it because we're all so used to hoarding things with limited uses. So Many Potions....

Level Up (A5E) Amazon availability for LevelUp Advanced?

Is there an expected timeframe for preorders to have been shipped?

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing feats and ASIs

fair. Although there is a big difference between ineffective and less effective. Sometimes the fun is finding a way to make someone who is less effective more effective through unusual methods.

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing feats and ASIs

Same. The characters I remember are the favorable ones, not the "strongest" ones. I understand why someone may want to make a character with as few weaknesses as possible, but I prefer mine to be realistically heroic and maybe have to look for other ways to shore up their "weaknesses".

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing feats and ASIs

Agreed. Also it took me a long time to break out of the rut ingrained by previous editions that you "HAVE" to have the best stat to be useful.

    Rogue Social Expertise

"Social Expertise - You gain an expertise die on checks made with one of the following skills: Insight, Persuasion, or Sleight of Hand." Yeah this is a very plain option. You pick a skill listed and get an expertise die on it. As @Anselm said expertise die do stack and the thought behind this...

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing feats and ASIs

I've noticed that A5E is more forgiving of less than maxed ability scores

D&D General I am so done with kickstarter

It's hit or miss for me. Unfortunately with no good FLGS I'm stuck with them for the most part

Level Up (A5E) Adepts appear to make really good fighters.

I second this. The ability of the adept to pick and choose focus features makes it way easier to build a character that's both fun to play and viable.

Level Up (A5E) Getting Started With Level Up

I've used the LU in a 5E adventure and they work fine. Some (shadows, I'm looking at you) are actually less powerful than the O5E version.

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing feats and ASIs

It's always a trade off with either buying feats or getting an ASI. Some of the multiclass feats (Nightstalker, Untamed, and Vigilante) do give a +1 to a stat. You can also get ASIs through other means (like strongholds)

D&D General I am so done with kickstarter

I got really burned on the Neal Stephenson KS for his game Clang (Neal Stephenson Sheathes Crowdfunded Swordfighting Game for Good) which really bummed me out. There were a few others that I donated a small amount to as a "holder" because I didn't trust the creator.

Level Up (A5E) Adepts appear to make really good fighters.

Yes it does (which is a big selling point for me).

Level Up (A5E) Getting Started With Level Up

Personally I found it better to use a converted adventure that my players were familiar with (after reading the books) and had already run through as an intro for my player so they could see how A5E changes affect the game.

Level Up (A5E) Adepts appear to make really good fighters.

No problem. Yeah it's not a super big buff. More a "s'cool combo factor"

Level Up (A5E) Adepts appear to make really good fighters.

By using the NIghtstalker feat on page 389. Second bullet point says "You may deal Sneak Attack damage when making attacks using unarmed strikes or adept weapons." Since the adept focus feature "Adept Weaponry" says the chosen weapons count as adept weapons for you they would qualify for sneak...

Level Up (A5E) Adepts appear to make really good fighters.

I pointed out to some of my players that with the correct feat/ability choices you can totally make a str Adept/Rogue that gets sneak attack with a greatsword so this doesn't surprise me too much.
