Level Up (A5E) Deadeye feat and ricochet maneuver

On a second thought, I think the overlap still bother me a bit. I think ricochet for n 0 exertion covers very well the talent to shoot through cover that the feat historically offers (and i like the idea that only one attack can surpass cover and consumes the archer bonus action to "carefully...

Level Up (A5E) Expertise dice and rogue tricks

I was building a rogue character (for fun) amd when I came to choose my tricks, I stumbled upon the following. Observer: You gain an expertise die on Perception checks and increase your passive Perception score by 3. Now naturally, if you have an expertise die, you passive already increases by...

Level Up (A5E) Deadeye feat and ricochet maneuver

Good point about the ricochet NOT costing exertion due to the feat (I completely missed that). In light of that fact, the niche where ricochet does help (as exemplified by @Boldo) makes it not feel like a wasted space

Level Up (A5E) Deadeye feat and ricochet maneuver

Pleaae help.me.understsndnthis feat amd maneuver interaction. The deadeye feat gives you access to the ricochet maneuver, which let's you make your next attack ignoring cover on the target. All good, but the 2nd bullet on the deadeye feal also says that target with cover doesn't have an AC...

A5e datasheet? Where can I get my hands on that? Can you give me a link please?

Level Up (A5E) Accuracy bonus from trained accuracy ranger feature

Does that mean that I could also choose " I want +1d6 damage". Then roll it , miss it and waste the resource? Or even choose the +1, roll it, miss it anyway, and waste the resource? I'm ok with that option, the ranger has to many plusses to attack and damage to get a killer alpha strike if he...

Level Up (A5E) Accuracy bonus from trained accuracy ranger feature

This is quite specific, so I'm kinda after help with RAW interpretation or maybe how others have ruled it (or, God forbid, designer's intention). The accuracy Bonus of the Ranger's trained accuracy feature reads "When you make a weapon attack, you can use your reaction to gain an attack bonus...

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing and maneuvers

Yeah, I'm of the same opinion. I wasn't sure about the 2 maneuvers you get when you multiclass, but I am planning to solve the fighter progression issue (where you take a dip in fighter as a rogue or herald for example and you almost double the rate of your maneuvers for the rest of you career)...

Level Up (A5E) Multiclassing and maneuvers

Just being sure i am not missing something... Let's say i have 9 levels in ranger and decided to take 2 levels in rogue. Do I get 2 new traditions and 2 maneuvers at my highest degree (3rd in this case) or 2 1st degree maneuvers? I think it would get 3rd degree maneuvers if I'm reading...

Level Up (A5E) Sword of wounding vs regeneration

I came across the situation of the title, where a character with sword of wounding (Sword of Wounding | Level Up) was fighting a troll amd the player asked what would happen. I quickly said "you don't know, you notice the wound didnt close". I ruled that the regeneration didn't work but the...

Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

I can envision some scenes from LotR where Arwen "speaks" with Aragorn telepathically. He hears her thoughts in her voice, so he knows its unmistakably her speaking and could be rallied by that imo. As for command strike, I think it would follow the same logic: " I know you can't see, but I...

Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

Noted, thanks. I'm also thinking on dark environments or blind allies where being silent would be a thing. But I guess you are right. This is an edge case, and saying yes is not detrimental, so always yes, maybe with a but after...

Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

Not if there are enemies around, and your friend is trapped in a different room. I'm sure one could come up with all kinds of situation where this ,if allowed, could be useful

Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

Not really, if you can sense your comrade is behind a door, you can "speak" words of comfort in his head and rally him for example

Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

Quick and dirty Would you allow the elf gift mystic rapport to fulfill the "...ally must be able to see or hear you..." of the Marshall commanding presence and rallying surge? Cheers

Level Up (A5E) Thoughts on A5E classes from your table(s)?

Well, since we have a maneuver that copies the adept feature, I don't see a problem of it costing double, a fighter can even halve the cost with the maneuver specialisation if he really wants it anyway

Level Up (A5E) Thoughts on A5E classes from your table(s)?

Not if you lower the cost to 2, maybe even 1 exertion. That's how the monk ability worked back in 3e wanst it? You pay for it at every attack. You'd need yo rewrite the maneuver to something like "after you activate the maneuver, the first attack stuns (on a failed save). Pay again for the next...

Level Up (A5E) Thoughts on A5E classes from your table(s)?

No problem at all, just wanted to confirm. In another note, it feels odd that adepts, of all classes, don't have evasion. In my opinion they deserve it a lot more than beserkers. To be honest, both rogues and beserkers should only get evasion through an archetype. Evasion is indeed pretty strong.

Level Up (A5E) Thoughts on A5E classes from your table(s)?

I totally missed the berserk evasion, but I did look for and didn't find the adept evasion. Can you or someone point me to the feature that grants it please?
