Agreed. Could pivot to going on adventures to gain resources necessary to level your domain. Could also level with diplomacy and other political actions that enhance your domain. Sounds fun.

Two anthologies I really like are Night Winds by Karl Edward Wagner (Kane) and At the Edge of the World by Lord Dunsany.

Second this. While I like DCC, I like Shadowdark even better. More streamlined and no wonky dice. The Arcane Library just did a big Kickstarter for the campaign setting which includes books on specific locations.

The Lost City of Gaxmoor (5e version, which is a little cleaned up from the 3e version) might float your boat. Not perfect by any means, but has some interesting elements to it.

I'm not going to judge (no pun intended) GG without hearing more details on what the terms of the licensing agreement are, but if the agreement includes sharing the proceeds from actual sales with that particular person, this is going to be a strong pass. Would be really disappointed in GG if...

Thanks for this. I have been trying to connect to their website and it just keeps timing out. It definitely feels like a timing issue, with the website troubles perhaps compounding things.

I’m thinking GG wants to make sure they message this carefully. Perhaps they got excited and wanted to get this out at the Con before they had that nailed down. Or perhaps they had a message at the Con and they just haven’t sent that out more broadly yet.

Over on Reddit and Bluesky there were posts stating Goodman had bought out most of the IP from Judges Guild. Still, I’d also like to see an announcement from GG to confirm.

My son started playing this morning, and it looks like a HUGE upgrade. Haven't played it myself yet (will tonight), but I was expecting just a HD upgrade, not a total overhaul, including upgrading the UI.

Looks like they will also replace the free basic rules at that time as well (which will not be covered under the Creative Commons license).

That was Bungie’s Myth. It was an amazing game. You controlled small units of soldiers, archers, dwarves, etc. in a desperate bid to hold off the forces of darkness. The online play was the real treat (this was in the ‘90’s). You could play as part of guild and have amazing head to head battles.
