    Immediate Reaction Now?

I think you could come up with some interesting rulings for a case like that: 1) Let the PC who was in the way drop prone (effectively becoming a size smaller) and get trampled for a little bit of p.42 damage. 2) The PC allows the monster pass through his square, but the monster gets to make...

As a result of this thread, I ended up going with Bluffside. Thanks for your help, everybody! :)

I absolutely love that house rule. Now that I think about it, it amounts to "try something cool" and if you fail you suffer from p.42 + some negative effect. Which is a really neat way to keep that rule in play. -blarg

Keeping track of combat length (for posterity)

At low levels we often ran out of encounter powers. As a result we typically had to use at-wills once or twice per combat. We also looked for p.42 opportunities more frequently. Nowadays we often don't even use all our encounter powers before the fight is over. As for at-wills, I've used...

I think it's actually kind of cool. There are some great Campbellian characters in the Eddings' books. At the very least, you can be happy as a DM knowing what kind of story he likes.

Keeping track of combat length (for posterity)

Yep, I think that's fine as well. If you saw us at the table, you'd see that each player's turn is resolved fairly quickly. I'd say a good third or more of each round is taken up by the DM. Wik has to run all the monsters' attacks, the environmental effects, and provide descriptions of what...

Keeping track of combat length (for posterity)

Interesting question! Looking over my logs, the three longest combats my group has experienced (since I started keeping track) were: 7 rounds in 120 minutes 6 rounds in 105 minutes 6 rounds in 90 minutes The top two of those featured MANY monsters or traps that were chucking out multi-target...

    What are good rogue feats?

A lot depends on your party composition. If somebody is handing out basic attacks, then Melee Mastery is awesome. In a party with few melee combatants, Distant Advantage is horrible because nobody wants to flank. Without knowing more about your party mates, I'd suggest Skill Power. If you...

    What Monster(s) are Overexposed?

Lantern archons are way overexposed. I can't get a picture of them that isn't blown to hell.

Hydra Charge is pretty damn good too. I've been tempted to retrain C&GI out for that one.

    A Government By Psions?

Moving away from the linguistish sidetrack... I'd like to suggest that a psionic government could be called a demopathy.

    A Government By Psions?

A mentality! Of course, the ruler would be the head of state. When the rulers of two mentalities got together, they'd naturally have a tête-a-tête. :)
