ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

I'll have to see more of the Witch. Right now, I see myself staying with Walrock Homebrew's Witch. In contrast, I would like to see both Kobold Press's Expanded Shaman and "The Many Spirits of the Shaman: Archetypes of the Shaman Class" web articles by Margherita Tramontano (from Kobold Press's...

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

Keeping meaningful size distinctions is a plus in my book. D&DOne's approach was just one of several things turning me off to it.

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

I agree. Ideally, Rural, Urban, Nomadic, etc, in my opinion should be separate. I would really like to see the Human cultures that Rich Howard, whom I believe still writes for Kobold Press, posted on his website as the basis and expanded upon. However, I do not know if Tribality owns it as the...

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

Marc, there is an error on the experience chart. Both 4th and 5th level list 6500. Also, I think Humans should get a third heritage-Rural for farmers, villagers, and similar whom are not nomadic, but also not Cosmopolitan and streetwise. edit: I just your post about supplying feedback to the...

D&D General Talking about Stepping Away from D&D?

I was just talking with my "brother from another mother". We had been discussing gaming via either a vtt or something like Zoom once we both get over some health issues. D&D was one of the possible games since his daughter had begun playing 5e and he had bought the core books as a result. The...

D&D 5E (2014) Amazon has sale on some of the 5e books + buy 2 books and save 50% on 1 of the two.

Just wanted to let people know that Amazon has several D&D books at nearly 50% off + some of those same books are eligible for a special buy 2 books and get 1 of them at addiitional 50% off. I just purchased the DMG ($27.97) and the PHB ($13.05) +about $4 tax.

D&D 5E (2014) Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes or Monsters of the Multiverse if I don't care about new PC races?

Thanks everyone. I think i am going to put both books on my short to buy list of WOTC supplements (I just purchase the DMG ($27.97) and the PHB ($13.05) taking advantage of an Amazon Gift Card, Amazon sale, and additional buy 2 get 1 of them 50% off).

D&D 5E (2014) Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes or Monsters of the Multiverse if I don't care about new PC races?

Thanks. I was editing my post when you replied. I am mostly interested in the Demon Princes and rulers of the levels of Hell (plus hopefully Geryon). Is MoM still the better choice?

D&D 5E (2014) Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes or Monsters of the Multiverse if I don't care about new PC races?

No, I don't own Volo's. I was not interested in the races and only one or two monsters interested me. It was a no purchase for me. Mostly what I am interested in are stats for the Demon Princes and Rulers of the layers of Hell.

D&D 5E (2014) Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes or Monsters of the Multiverse if I don't care about new PC races?

Would the Vecna stat block that WOTC put out be an example of the streamlining format found in Multiverse?

D&D 5E (2014) Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes or Monsters of the Multiverse if I don't care about new PC races?

If I don't care about new PC races, should I purchase Tome of Foes or Monsters of the Multiverse? What makes one a stronger purchase of another?

D&D 5E (2024) What are the top 3 things, above all else, you want from One DnD?

I was trying to narrow my list down to top 3, but I can't. I have about ten things that are equally important to me.

It is time to forgive WOTC and get back onboard.

I do not own the core books. I have the online Basic Rules and the SRD (although, I will probably pick up the core books at some point). Beyond the Basic Rules and SRD, everything I own for 5e comes from Drivethrurpg, DMGuild (no add-ons to WOTC settings/adventures), ENWorld, r/Unearthed...

It is time to forgive WOTC and get back onboard.

I didn't say they would stop covering 5e, but would be expanding. True, Treantmonk said that he couldn't at this point, but that was not saying he would not do other games. As you noted, he would need to become much more familiar with other games . So, I probably should have written open to...

It is time to forgive WOTC and get back onboard.

I saw several if not all of those you listed (except Pack Tactics which I have never seen) and others (e.g. Dungeon Coach) say that they will be expanding what they cover to include other games.

ToV [Kobold Press] Black Flag Friday

If i recall, correctly, Rich Howard works for Kobold Press. I hope hertiages (at least for humans) in Project Black Flag will be handled similiar to the article he posted on his website which involved choosing from different environments (e.g. arctic, coast, desert, forests, grasslands, jungle...
