    Undermountain Begins! (And DMGII Tidbit...)

Regardless of whether I'd actually use this feature or not (not familiar with the original, and some of the detail seems a little wonky), I still think it's a great idea and I hope they decide to revisit other modules and/or settings (!) in the future. BTW, I just noticed on that giant map...

March Fo(u)rth for GM's Day Giveaway - Pimp Your GM!

COOL! I mean, not about the Internet thing, just that I didn't miss it and we'll find out soon. Not that I'm impatient or anything. I'll shut up now.

Yeah, did I miss the announcement?

    Gamer's Harper's Index

:D For our group, this would be more like: Estimated number of minutes in the average game before a movie reference: 22 But, back to business: Minimum number of active threads on ENWorld dealing with paladin code issues: 7 Most common topic response: "Have you tried talking to this person?"

In all my 22 years of gaming...

LOL! That happened to us, too. We had a party of three (1 rogue, 1 wizard, 1 fighter, all first level). The (inexperienced) DM brings out a barbarian orc with a great axe - two party members hide, but the fighter can't get away fast enough. The orc killed the fighter completely and utterly dead...

    Why do you buy Dragon?

I have a subscription still because there are some reoccurring articles that I really just love (Ecology of and Winning Races, even if I never use them, always give me great ideas). Plus, practically every issue I find one article I think will be uninteresting but will end up really surprising...

    Connect the gamer

I may be the odd man out, so to speak. There's only one poster here that I've met in person and he's one of our DMs. At least that I know of, that is.

Whisky for my men, beer for my horses!

Perhaps a tad overused, but "Red Right Hand" by Nick Cave ans the Bad Seeds conjures up some wicked characters for me. :)

    D&D for Breakfast

I would LOVE to start at 10 and play until about 5 or 6. Since we play on Saturdays, we could theoretically do that, except we have several players that often have to work during the day on Saturday, so our usual start time is 3 PM (though I'm horrible about getting to game on time - sorry...

Look what I got my GM for GM's Day!!!

What a great gift - I love that it is so personal and has so much meaning! I hope he likes it.

Who else finds it difficult to act serious at the gaming table

We have a problem staying on topic - we tend to joke around out of character quite a bit. Every so often someone will come up with a funny character, like the half-orc with a 4 charisma who wears barbed wire and plucked out an eye in honor of his god (I guess you had to be there), but that's...

    I hate cat-people, dog-people, lion-people, etc

Sweet! But, back on topic, I'm of the "it really depends on how its done" camp. I suspect that when it gets on my nerves is the whole "furry" thing - that is, I worked at comic book store for a while and the furries would come by every Wednesday for their fix of furry fetish comics and I swear...

    How high have you started?

We usually start at 1st level for new campaigns, but one DM decided to start us at 12th level for a change of pace. Besides, he was impatient to use all those demons and devils in the MM. :uhoh:

    Speaking in/out of character

We go back and forth pretty smoothly. One thing that helps us to distinguish between in character and out of character comments is that when a comment is directed to someone in character, the player or DM calls that person by their character's name - for example, the DM says to me, "What does...

    City of the Spider Queen.

I wanted details, man! :D But seriously, thanks for indulging me. This is hilarious. BTW, to the original poster - I hope this thread doesn't discourage you too much. Let us know if you decide to run it still and if so, how it went. Good luck!

    That's hilarious! I actually like that. :)

    When using published adventures...

One DM in group does tell us. For example, he bought the WLD, showed it to us and said, "Let's play through this!" During the days of 2E, he announced he was running RttToEE and most recently, in his last campaign he ran G1-3 for nostalgia. All of us had played through G1-3 at some point, so it...

I'm naming my NPCs from my spam.

Yes! I love doing this, and those are beautiful, BTW. One of my characters, a cleric, had a mentor named Father Pingrey Tollman, which was swiped from spam I received. I believe the "real" Mr. Tollman was trying to sell me Viagra. :D

    When using published adventures...

Do you tell your players which adventure you are going to run or do you keep it secret? Why?
