Sunday Greyhawk game from 10:00 AM to 6:00 or 7:00 PM.

Wednesday Night Ebberon game from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

If I didn't have to be at work at 7:30 AM, I'd play forever!

I'm starting to find that players don't want to start too early on weekends, especially if they're working 9-5 jobs all week long. On the weekends, they just want to sleep in.

On the other hand, I've run into the occasional person like myself who is used to getting up in the wee hours of the morning and waiting until noon feels like a waste of the morning hours.

I would LOVE to start at 10 and play until about 5 or 6. Since we play on Saturdays, we could theoretically do that, except we have several players that often have to work during the day on Saturday, so our usual start time is 3 PM (though I'm horrible about getting to game on time - sorry, guys). We did manage to play once or twice early and we put out a great spread: coffee, juice, a fruit tray, muffins, bagels and pasta salad. It was a fabulous way to game. :D

(damn, I'm hungry!)

I'd prefer to play in the afternoon, say 2pm-8pm. Mornings wouldn't be bad either. Right now we play 6pm-10pm. Any later than that, and I'm pretty much toast. There have been a few times in the past where I have been known to fall asleep at the table for 5-10 minutes at a time when we played really late.

You're gonna be a LOAD of fun at GenCon, I can tell. ;) "Rich fell asleep again! Draw the moustache on now!"

Our group has always been a pack of night owls. I've noted that particularly since everybody has kids we tend to have more free time in the evenings because the wives are more tolerant of gaming when they don't have to take up the slack on the parenting.

It also helps that I'm a lazy bastard who gets to sleep until at least 8:30 most mornings. If I don't have a job scheduled for the mornings after our game nights (and I usually don't) then my (WONDERFUL) wife often lets me sleep until 9:30.

Upon reading the title of this thread I assumed that WotC was trying to make more money by making a DnD cereal. LOL! Glad I read a couple of posts first.

My body functions on a weird schedule. Some days I can function for 36 hours straight at most and only 8 hours on my weirdest days. I've gamed from sunrise to sunset to sunrise to sunset before, and I have no doubt that I'll be doing it again [someday].

(disclaimer, I've only read the first post)

ah ... you've grown up, or you've gotten a job that requires normal hours ...

I can't do that late night thing either, for me premium gaming time is from about 10:00-17:00 ... not a full 7hours mind you, but about 4 hours between those times.

something about his finace not liking him gaming.....
Bah! Find a better woman! :)

We like starting early just so that we have the option of running late and playing all day. That being said, the majority of our group is still in college, so the idea of "scheduling" and "having other plans" isn't as rigid as with working adults.

When possible, I make a big meal (chilli, tamales, pasta, something hearty) and we spend all day eating and gaming.

And the nice thing about starting early: everyone's still a little hazy, so they're easier to kill in the morning. :)
