WotC Hasbro Bets Big on D&D

I didn't watch or hear the fireside chat, but I will certainly say this thread has been an interesting read. I almost want to apologize to D&D fans out there since several of the words, concepts, and themes we are seeing emerge in recent months were markers of a vision I pushed pretty hard to...

Free League is Demiplane’s Latest Nexus

While I have been around the block enough to know that software development never happens at the pace that fans would like for it to, I agree with the sentiment and that frustration is something I felt firsthand (but couldn't do anything to improve due to a variety of factors). I joined...

Free League is Demiplane’s Latest Nexus

"Viable" is a relative threshold, and it's always going to be lower for a small company. We don't have to see D&D numbers to be very happy with the results. And personally, I would much rather be associated with an open playground than a walled garden, so we're making something we believe in...

Free League is Demiplane’s Latest Nexus

Speaking as a creator of this digital support, I could not agree more - physical products will always play a role in this hobby. We are never trying to supplant that...our goal is to supplement and enhance the experience for those that find digital tools useful.

Free League is Demiplane’s Latest Nexus

Starting with a way to find games and a space to connect and play was the essential groundwork for what we had planned for these digital toolsets. One regret from my former gig was not having a place to "put" the tools we were creating, so we're doing that differently at Demiplane. And more to...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Nexus is the Official Toolset for PF2E

Yes, that is correct. We are working with Paizo on the potential of subscription integration. More details to come!

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Nexus is the Official Toolset for PF2E

Yes - Paizo Connect works with content pre-orders on Pathfinder Nexus. If you bought the book already through Paizo.com, you receive a 33%/$10 discount. If you don't own the PDF on Paizo.com, then pre-ordering on Nexus is full price, but it unlocks the PDF through Paizo.com.

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Nexus is the Official Toolset for PF2E

I'll take this one and sorry for you getting pulled into it @darjr - that was a label applied by our PR consultant based on previous comments from outlets within the industry regarding the approach we're taking to combining matchmaking, video and voice, and now digital tools in one place. So...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Nexus is the Official Toolset for PF2E

Wouldn't that be great? :sneaky: We believe that there are some really great games and third-party publishers outside of D&D that deserve nice things.

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Nexus is the Official Toolset for PF2E

The things you list in the "future tools" is where things will really come together for Pathfinder Nexus. Today was an announcement, not a launch. The value of the toolset will (hopefully) be clear once we get to launch early next year. Thanks!

D&D General DDB's Adam Bradford went to Demiplane

We currently give Game Masters and groups the ability to host paid games, and players can tip Game Masters at the end of a session if they desire to. We'll share more about future plans once we get there. 😏

D&D General DDB's Adam Bradford went to Demiplane

There is no VTT...we've started with video, screensharing, voice, chat, and notes. But that's just a few months of effort and is the tip of the iceberg. We'll be sharing much more in the weeks and months to come!

D&D General Adam Bradford, Lauren Urban, Todd Kenrick Leave D&D Beyond

Tracking characters is another way of saying there is a "record" kept of them. Charging will no doubt be part of the game always, and you always have to move in a "straight" line... 6e confirmed!

D&D General Adam Bradford, Lauren Urban, Todd Kenrick Leave D&D Beyond

So much speculation in this thread - some of it has been entertaining, some head-scratching. I'll set the record straight on a few things: The decision for the three of us to leave was 100% voluntary - no one was let go. We all found new opportunities at roughly the same time, and Fandom...

You Have The Power! New Masters of the Universe RPG!

It's actually at the printer now. We expect it to at least start getting out to backers towards the end of September. Available elsewhere after that. (As long as we don't run into any other pandemic-related delays with the printer.)

'Tales from Xadia' Dragon Prince RPG Announced

Right - the six primal sources of magic plus the dark magic of humans will have an impact and cost, just as it does in the show. The Dragon Prince is set in a more or less medieval fantasy world, but much of the story focuses on revenge vs. redemption, overcoming self-doubt, breaking free of...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Most Popular D&D Classes & Subclasses

That is correct - for single-class characters only. Allowing for multi-classing raises both the popularity overall of warlock (slightly) and definitely of the Hexblade subclass (to top of characters with warlock levels).

    D&D 5E (2014) The Most Popular D&D Classes & Subclasses

I talked about this in the Reddit thread that popped up a couple of days ago: I stated in the stream that this provides a look at what is being played most using D&D Beyond. We're not saying that this data is representative of D&D as a whole, but it is representative of what happens on DDB...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D's Top Magic Items

Yep, I didn't say that experienced players weren't using D&D Beyond - hundreds of thousands (possibly millions, not in front of the data right now) are. Simply sharing that newer players have proven more likely to adopt. I would suggest a couple of primary reasons (hypotheses since I haven't...
