WotC WotC in a small decline as revenue drops by 16% as Hasbro shares hit a new 52-week low

I loved that review! Ha! After reading through the book, I was like what the hell? (no pun intended) And then decided to create a campaign in Baldur's Gate, pulling in some of the previously published 4E and D&D Next material and completely ignoring the Avernus $#!+. So, yeah > I use it...

WotC WotC in a small decline as revenue drops by 16% as Hasbro shares hit a new 52-week low

If WotC, Hasbro, Paizo, and all of the other gaming companies crashed and burned today, never to produce ANY new material, we gamers have enough sourcebooks, accessories, dice (although, can you ever really have enough?), modules, adventure ideas, etc to last until the world ends. Come to think...

D&D General Hasbro Pulse announces D&D Dicelings.

Ordered all four almost immediately - there's something about dice...must...have...them! They probably won't be functional, but they are very cool.

D&D 3.x Savage Tide and Age of Worms - worth the hype?

There are two legal ways to go about it. One is to own the mags (Dungeon & Dragon), remove the pages for the adventures, and bind them in a single volume. That's what I did. The other way is to own the pdfs, print off what you need for the adventure, and bind those in a single volume or in a...

D&D 3.x Savage Tide and Age of Worms - worth the hype?

You can purchase the pdfs over at Paizo.com. For the Age of Worms, they are $4.95 each.

D&D 3.x Savage Tide and Age of Worms - worth the hype?

Vael, my players never made it to the Necromancer encounter; they were done before that ;)

D&D 3.x Savage Tide and Age of Worms - worth the hype?

I have never played in any of them, but owned the Shackled City AP in hardback for awhile, then finally sold it. I also collected all of the Dungeon Mags and Dragon Mags featuring the Age of Worms, and bound them into a single hardback volume. It was beautiful and I ran the first adventure out...

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Elsir Vale (pre-Red Hand of Doom)

I've tabled it for now. Just beginning two new campaigns; a 1st edition game in the Realms (the way they should be), and a 2nd edition game in Post-Wars Greyhawk. Along with my 5e game in Baldur's Gate, I will be strapped to manage these three, much less give RHoD its due diligence. Good luck...

D&D General Appendix EN - What one book/series inspires your D&D?

Same reason I came here - Abercrombie has created a gritty fantasy world that I absolutely love. So, I will add John Marco's Tryants and Kings trilogy with The Jackal of Nar, The Grand Design, & The Saints of the Sword. Rich in detail, visceral writing, "checked all the boxes" for me.

Which Edition for a Megadungeon Campaign? Why?

I'm torn between 1E and 2E, but leaning toward 2E without all of the options & skills. As for a dungeon crawl, I have several caverns linked to a small port town (Lathtarl's Lantern in the Realms or Gradsul in Greyhawk) where townsfolk are beginning to disappear. Upon investigation, there is a...

AD&D 1E Forgotten Realms in AD&D 1st Edition a better setting for adventures?

I've used the FR wiki a great deal through the years, as well as the Candlekeep forum, avoiding arguments about how many lights are on a particular street in Waterdeep. :) I bought a very nice Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting box (that came with the FR Adventures hardcover as a bonus!) from...

What are you reading in 2022?

Yeah man, let me know when you do, Ralif. I'm about a chapter and a half from finishing; it's been really good and has encouraged me to go back through Ronnie's music catalog one more time.

What are you reading in 2022?

I need to update my Goodreads page to reflect what I am currently reading: Rainbow in the Dark by Ronnie James Dio > this is his autobiography and since he's my favorite rock/heavy metal singer, I was excited to get it and I'm about 2/3 done. Ronnie was a voracious reader and read a great deal...

Dude, your campaign wiki page is a beast! Love it!

is the ttrpg market swamped now? could you write a winner?

This thread takes me back to the days of Wolfgang Baur's Open Design, the pre-cursor to the "kickstarter" type projects. In OD, patrons bought in at various levels and actually had a hand in the design of the adventure. Via the forum, we could talk with each other and with the lead designer(s)...

D&D General How do you deal with long breaks in your campaign?

Nothing wrong with a break, and the reason really doesn't matter. I've ran multiple games (via email and pbp) where I would take the summer off. At the end of the summer, players would begin emailing and we would "kick-off" the next round of adventures, usually over Labor Day weekend. Since the...

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Elsir Vale (pre-Red Hand of Doom)

Just catching up on this thread because I too am considering revisiting Elsir Vale and the RHoD adventure...which is one of my favorites to run. It just keeps calling me back ;) pukunui, I love your expanded ideas for the cities/towns of the Vale and my brain is churning about how to do that...

    D&D 3.x N3: Destiny of Kings Conversion

Destiny of Kings was one of my favorite adventures to run many years ago. For those who have ran it several times, where would you place it in Greyhawk? I'm considering a new campaign in the Yeomanry region.
