I disagree. Most of the rituals seem to be for the benefit of the entire party. Warding the party while you sleep. Transporting the entire party. Gain information for the entire party. Waterwalk? You're likely to cast that on the entire party in order to overcome an obstacle. Fighters' swords...

I wouldn't make a spiked gauntlet equal to a katar, unless the spikes were like wolverine claws. I'd make it no better than +2/1d4. Trident? Yeah, I'd leave it as a spear. In some cases a monster's weapon might be more powerful, but you can explain that it's because of the monster's skill or...
